Having watched the series again recently, I think it's a solid way to do it.

But be prepared to have to fill in the gaps. And while Lucas clearly thought of the overall story, the massive gaps and sometimes just improper rewriting of history is pretty interesting.

The original cut of Episode III had him turning primarily because he genuinely thought the jedi were evil and were taking over the Republic. They did reshoots to put emphasis on the love story.

It flowed well with Anakin's character though. Yes, he's always been arrogant and sure of his abilities but his main flaw was being very emotional and thus, could be swayed by the Dark Side. I think Revenge of the Sith balanced it well in regard to being played by Palpatine that the Jedi were going rogue and taking over the Republic and at the same time, being ruled by his fear of losing Padme due to his visions/dreams.

Jedi are supposed to be stoic for the most part, which is why they're taken in at a young age. Anakin was a special case with a full range of emotions, and much like any other human tragedy, his downfall was borne out of love -- love for something or for someone (someone, in his case).

It also made more sense in the totality of the saga. He turns to the dark side to save the woman he loves and turns back to the light to save his son. Love was his downfall and redemption.

I'm very okay with how Revenge turned out. I saw it before I saw Attack of the Clones, so I wasn't as sour on Hayden Christensen going in. He's not amazing, but he's not nearly as bad in episode 3 as he's often made out to be. And while I think Empire is the best of the series, Revenge may be my favorite (and I rank it as the second best of the first 6).

I'm gonna try to get 4dx tickets tomorrow while i'm in town. I can't wait to twist and turn during x-wing scenes and feel every swipe of a saber. Its really a dream come true since I was a kid to actually be in a theater that can do all of that while watching a Star Wars movie.

I honestly didn't hate the "new" trilogy the way a lot of people did, though it might be different for me because I was too young to see the original trilogy back when it originally came out. I was young back when the newer trilogy came out though.

I think this new movie is shaping up to be pretty good; very interested to see what the overall plot is, though I have an idea of how I think it will end.

Are the blu-rays of the first six worth getting?

I've got the first five on DVD, but I lost Revenge of the Sith when I moved.

I would only spend money on the original 3. If I had a chance I would only buy A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back. Everything else is a TBS viewing for me.

What's the odds that Luke is actually featured in trailer (and on the poster) hidden in plain sight?

If you're a Star Wars fan, no doubt. Aside from that, the blu-rays are a pretty good showcase for your home theater setup if you got one. The OT looks great in HD (moreso 5 and 6) and 3 is just a visual feast.

I personally liked the prequels. Execution could have been a lot better, but there are some really good parts.
I've always felt the criticism of the prequels were overblown. Are they great movies? No. However other than Jar Jar I felt they were solid.

Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen have zero chemistry together, and their dialogue as a result suffers. That's my only other complaint.

I wasn't born back when the old ones first came out has I was born in 89 and I am not sure how old I was when I first saw them but the old ones all 3 of them are like in my top 20 favorite movies of all time. So I was around 10 when episode 1 come out and it is like around the 4th worst movie I have ever seen before and episode 2 is around the same. It is rare even if I dislike a movie that I think it is has bad has people say but I don't think people over react at all when it comes to episode 1 and 2 they real are that bad. Now 3 I liked a lot but because episode 1 and 2 where so bad I am still iff about this movie because episode 1 and 2 look good from previews to only let me down like no other movies have ever done before. So I am worried that this is just going to be episode 1 all over again. For those reason my hype is not at the level that it is for a lot of people. On a scale of 1-10 my hype is like a 6 but before the trailer it was like a 3.
