    Maybe next episode.
But is that not the point?

We seen him evolve his ways last season, mainly due to Hannah, but there was still that part of Dexter that wanted to set himself free from The Code. The murder of LaGuerta is what's going to do him in and it's fitting because it was the one time he went against everything he stood for.

Already had enough of this Quinn/Jamie storyline. Hope that it somehow turns into a relevant plot point, otherwise it's wasting valuable screen time in this final season.

Although some parts of them have annoyed me, I am a fan of the concept of the Dr. Vogel storyline, as well as Deb's spiral. Interested to see where they go in these final 10 episodes.

Question: Wasn't Dexter's first kill supposed to be the nurse that was going all euthanasia on patients, including Harry?

According to this, yes, she was his first human kill.

I was confused by those early Dexter kills too. I thought Harry committed suicide when Dexter killed that pimp because Harry thought he created a monster. It sounded like Dexter had begun his spree before that and Harry knew all about it.

It was an okay episode. The thing that drew me back to Dexter last season was Deb finding out and Laguerta being on their tale. Deb's spiral is interesting too. Everything else feels like filler. I hate how there has to be a new villain every season. I would rather focus on the characters already on the show.

i loved the episode. when has Dexter felt empathy? when he snapped at Batista in the first episode, that to me is a sure sign of GUILT and the first we've seen. and it's guilt because he drove away Deb. as they have began explaining to us now, its very clear that Deb is the motivation behind the 'code'. everything Dex has done was motivated by striving for her approval. throughout all the flahsbacks we've been hearing Harry tell Dex that he could never tell her she will never accept him etc etc.

from growing up with her he has developed some sort of emotional bond and he continues to kill people who fit the 'code' so that one day maybe he will earn her approval (<there is maybe a better word, acceptance?)

also, this maybe crazy but read at your own risk..

I just don't see it as "fitting" with Deb as the trigger woman, and it's not the first time he purposely went against the code. He killed Hannah's father who was a total creep, but well outside the code's criteria.

Dr. Vogel's insertion into Dex's past is a little clumsy. Her intelligent curiosity and professed devotion has lead her to Dex only now? Of course, she may not be what she seems.

I liked this episode better.....maybe it was Angel trying to make Quinn a better man for his sister (yawn)

Vogel seems like a psychopath herself.

How many episodes are we getting this year? 12?

I think that's pretty obvious by how the 2nd episode ended, I really hope that is not the big reveal because I think most of the audience will have it figured out pretty quickly much like season 6.

I'm kinda getting tired of the psychoanalyzing of Dexter every single season. I hope the storyline of the teacher/mentor doesn't drag until the end. I was actually hoping they would go back to the spirit of the early seasons where Dexter was more carefree and targeting victims every week and having this false sense of security and then overlooking something really obvious after one of his kills and getting caught on something really stupid on the very last show which would be ironic considering how careful he has been all these years, well kinda careful but that's more due to sloppy writing.

if they make a big deal out of "who's the killer", and at the end is Dr. Vogal. I will be very disappointed, because everyone is already predicting it. And the writers would be complete morons, if they think that no one would think of that from the beginning.
