    Hoooooly ****, the ending!!

The rest of the episode was kind of annoying me because again, there's so many scenes and plot points where you just keep asking "what is the point?".

Did I miss something where this isn't the final season? Because honestly, you can't even see the end in sight. I'm hopeful that awesome ending is going to change that though.

i'm very much NOT happy with where this season is going. getting over that he should have been on the run long before now, why do they think giving him an apprentice is a good idea?

ugh lol. so far from where the show started, too far IMO. an apprentice?! really now? the man killed his own brother. actually, they tried this with Prado too didn't they? that season sucked too

this season has been completely average to me until now, not good but not bad... but i don't like where it seems like it's going (haven't watched the previews)

and i'll take even the whiny trashy depressed Deb over Hannah any day of the week..

Agreed, the season doesnt seem to have that vibe of it being the final season and is just going through the motions but hopefully that will pick up from here on out. And yes, the sub plots seem pointless as hell and just filler, so Deb's boss wants to get with Deb? Masucka (sp?) has a daughter that he chased off already it appears? Quinn didnt get Sargeant? None of this seems to make a difference in the end for Dexter and thats all I care about at this point so unless some of that starts tying together I envision this series ending one of three ways....

I see number 2 happening. But I swear to god if Zach Hamilton leads to the downfall of Dexter after all these years, I'm going to lose my ****.

A few random theories I have:

-With Elway, I keep thinking he's going to find something on Dexter. Either he really does have feelings for Deb or he's just trying to get close to her to get to Dexter.

-Cassie has seemed like a completely pointless character up to this point. I think Zach ends up killing her or trying to, thinking that she hurt Dexter.

-I think Vogel and Hannah are related or connected in some way.

-Jaime is going to find Harrison's bloody stuffed puppy and Harrison will tell her something along the lines of "Daddy stabbed a man", because Dexter just taught him not to lie.

As for some of these side stories, I understand why they're doing them. They're preparing the other characters' endings. The problem I have is it feels like they're spending too much time developing them. No one watches this show for any of the side characters or even finds them very interesting, if at all.

What I was expecting right from the beginning was the same intensity of last season. It kept you on the edge of your seat most of the time whereas this one has pretty much been the complete opposite.

Strongly disagree. I liked Smits in that role.

The storyline was good, not great, but certainly nor 4 asterisks. (IMO)

U think Hannah looks good, she's weak. As far as the episode, it's another downer I'm not really liking the season so far. Too much phoniness, without spoiling anything I'm just going to say I'm disappointed in the direction of the last season.

Disappointed about what happened to Cassie. Was hoping we might get a chance to see Bethany Joy Lenz nekkid. Although I thought I read something many moons ago that she wouldn't do that kind of stuff. She was good eye candy though. Oh well.

Episode was pretty good. I'm really not sure how things are going to shake out from here. Will Deb kill Hannah? Will Zack kill Dexter? Will Deb kill Dexter? Will somebody else kill Dexter? As an aside, I really don't trust Nikki. I think Vince is going to get screwed over somehow. Or she's going to see Dexter doing something after she takes the assistant's job.

It seems pretty possible, and I was actually half-expecting Deb to lose her **** in the parking lot while seeing Dexter and Hannah together. She said a few times this episode she wants Hannah "gone", and I'm pretty sure by that, she wants her dead. Of course, this episode strongly established that Dexter is still in love with Hannah, so it doesn't look like he'll have the balls to do it, leaving it up to Deb.

                            Will Zack kill Dexter?
I might find my own Dark Passenger if this happens. No way.

                            Will Deb kill Dexter?
I highly doubt it, but I won't say it's not in play. Deb gets highly emotional over anything relating to Dexter and Hannah, so I can see a situation arise out of that.

                            Will somebody else kill Dexter?
My personal feeling on this: my ideal ending at this point is Dexter sacrificing himself to save Deb from someone. At this point I could see it being Hannah because she would increase the emotional impact in that kind of scene/moment since she's already a developed character, as opposed to some random character just popping up this season.

And speaking of which, I know at face value it's made to look like Zach killed Cassie, but what about overacting boyfriend who appeared at the end of the episode (and who's quietly been in more scenes than I think a throwaway/non-important character like that would be in)? I'm thinking he could be The Brain Surgeon. It's not like this would be the first time they've pulled something like this. That goes all the way back to Season 1 and the reveal of Brian. I mean it seemed pretty obvious that Yates wasn't The Brain Surgeon considering his killing rituals, and we already know The Brain Surgeon was well aware of Dexter. Maybe this killing was made to frame Zach, who has also been interacting with Dr. Vogel?

I have to say this is definitely the absolute least of what I was expecting (and not in a good way) in what's supposed to be "The Final Season", but maybe, hopefully, the pieces are starting to come together and we can finally get that feeling of this being the end. Because as of right now, I'm feeling like the writers ****ed up and the show should have ended with a season like Season 2 or 7. That was the kind of intensity and storylines I was expecting out of this season. Instead, it's just been incredibly lacking up to this point.

the best scenes all season i think are the ones between deb and elway...

                              pretty boring episode.

A lot of the scenes showed how Deb is still in love with Dexter and how jealous she gets when any other women interested in him.
