There are 6 actresses up for the female lead. Including Taylor Schilling the lead in the hit Netflix series Orange is the New Black.

LMAO so this was released from the Deadpool Movie Facebook page with the caption

"First offical look at #Deadpool. Eat your heart out Burt Reynolds."

                    Totally get that reference too.

Aw man, if they can pull that kind of irreverence off then this is going to be a damn good and faithful adaptation!

Don't know much about Dead Pool so is he a comedy type character? Seems like everything I see of him is made to be funny except that version of him in Wolverine and everybody hated it.

Yes he is and I have always heard people say that his scene was the best part of the movie.

Wade Wilson was funny in Wolverine. Deadpool was not.

Same here. So when he showed up in Wolverine, I had no idea it was him (was there even a reference to the name?). I guess in the long run it won't ruin a thing for me. Pretty amazing they got the same actor to play the role, however. Little bit I've seen of him, he strikes me as a wise-crackin' Spidey character, though an R rated version, and less merciful.

He's wise-crackin' and R rated but he's not quite a Spidey type. The guy is INSANE. The one thing that may be impossible to translate well to the screen is the fact that Deadpool is always having a dialogue with himself, often breaking the 4th wall (that part can be done well) and most of the humor comes from that manic dialogue with himself. There's been times in the comics where Deadpool has has THREE different voices in his head.
