I saw a family with little kids no older than 10 years in the theatre. Shouldn't have been in there.

Downloaded and posted the wrong pic before. Other was not meant for this site, against the TOS. Triple checked to make sure this was the right one.

      NSFW for Language.

But even Deadpool doesn't think kids should see this movie.

Agreed, and I'm very liberal when it comes to what kids should and shouldn't see. This wasn't just inappropriate compared to other Marvel movies, this movie was inappropriate compared to almost any other R rated movie period. I've read several articles stating they actually had to work to keep this at R and it's pretty clear why.

All that said, amazing ****ing movie. Lol. It was exactly what a Deadpool movie should be and it was glorious.

But again, keep the kiddos far, far away.

Not sure how you can use absolutes with something subjective like parenting. I played Mortal Kombat for the first time when I was 6. Saw the movie "Ricochet" at about that age as well. Also saw Boyz n Tha Hood around 8ish. All things deemed inappropriate for kids (for obvious reasons). I grew up to be a school teacher. If a two hour movie has more of an impact on someone's kid than the movie then there might be other issues going on there.

It's not the time frame on seeing something or not seeing something, it's the impact of the stimulus. You having seen those things and becoming a school teacher is not a testament or proof of anything you're purporting. It's just idiographic. In order to provide the proper viewpoint of this matter, take the extreme stance. Since you are leaning in the direction that these forms of stimuli should have no profound effect on a prepubescent child, then, according to your position, we should allow this age group to have exposure to any and all forms of sex, violence, anti-social influence, etc., especially if they are ONLY in relatively short periods of time, such as the length of a movie or shorter. And, if these shouldn't have any profound effects on this age group, then repeated exposure should not have any effects either. However, we all know and understand, as well as have nomothetic data to back it up, that these are the very things that perversely affect children, otherwise we would not have laws and institutions in place to protect children from them. Actually, as a teacher I would hope that you support this understanding and reconsider your position after further investigating it, which is exactly what a teacher would and should do.

First thought I had if you read earlier in this thread when I saw it was, it's too much for kids, and it really is.

A lady brought a line of kids in, in the middle of the movie and I immediately starting cringing because it was all kinds of off the wall language and comments before they could even sit down.

You don't just subject kids to whatever just because you don't think it has no effect. There is always a line...This really has nothing to do with you in particular... it's just not intended for a non mature audience and even then they just use language far too much. If your school kids talked to you like that everyday you'd certainly have a problem.

EDIT: basically daflyboys said the same thing in more detail of what I was thinking, lol

Jeez you guys took this to an extreme. I said something about one movie lol. As far as being a teacher I'm no longer naive to the things kids say (or do for that matter) and a lot of it is on par with what was going on in the movie. You guys made blanket statements saying this movie is in no way for children and I just disagree. The same parent you watched bring a line of kids in could be the same parent that cusses up a storm at the dinner table. Or the same kids that get home before parents do and are listening and watching every thing they aren't supposed to. I just brought up a moment and you guys went into life decisions. It's like none of you ever cussed when you were young, sneaked and looked at magazine, accidentally ordered the wrong ppv movie (I couldn't have been the only one). All of these stats and what ever words you used to describe the studies, I'd like to see the families tied to the info to see what the structure was like at home. I'm going to guess that the background of the kids had a little more to do with their behavior than a 2 hour movie.

You're still talking about idiographic things versus more global influences. Also, don't make a counterpoint and then when it's debated, come back and act like we made this into something it's not. You're either in the debate or you're not.

Dude, idk what idiographic means and don't care enough about this debate to look it up lol. I said one thing about the movie and used myself as an example to show every kid that sees things they aren't supposed to see don't turn out ****ed up. You stepped up to the podium talking about all this stuff that I just really don't care about. My focus was strictly the movie. Apparently I'm debating something that's not in line with what you and 23 (even though I felt he and were talking about the same thing) are saying. Y'all got it.

While I probably wouldn't bring a kid to see Deadpool I wouldn't judge somebody for bringing their kid. It's certainly not going to ruin the kid. My parents philosophy growing up was turn your head when the sex scenes come up. If you're going to start using the language you hear in the movie you won't be watching any more "adult" movies.
