I use the Netgear PTV3000. It works great for me but there seems to be a lot if inconsistency between the devices. It either works without a hitch or is completely useless. XDA has some good intel on it.

Definitely going to pick up a Chromecast tomorrow. Happy to here that tab streaming allows you to cast Flash video!

Just picked up my Chromecast, easy hook. I gotta say Tab Casting is what makes this worth it for me because the lack of Flash in mobile Chrome. Now I can watch my favorite shows directly from their website via my desktop chrome browser and cast it on my TV!

Their is a downside to tab casting though, it seems to slow down your internet/lag, (even though I was getting 13mbps down and 4mbps up) and it's very cpu intensive, when casting a show on the internet from my desktop web browser my cpu was running at about 100 percent probably why it's lagging. Overall I really like it, going to play around with it more now.

Hooked mine up today. Very solid for what it does. My wireless internet speed is too slow to get anything higher than 480p to play without freezing up.

Direct HDMI to HDMI is my only viable option for HD playback.

I'm trying to cast from one device to another, right now my devices can only cast to my TV. I'm trying to cast a video from my Android phone to an iPhone. Right now they only can cast to my TV?

So, how does this Chromecast work?

Are you able to use any wi-fi throughout your home?

Desktop, laptop, smartphone? We have a tablet, desktop and laptop down stairs.

Obviously, you must use the Chrome browser?

Sorry, new to this.

We have netflix and my wife wants to see if we can stream it on to our TV using Chromecast.

Yes, YouTube, HBO Go and Netflix are the key apps right now with Chromecast.

I don't use it as often as I thought I would with the PS4 and XB1 but the wife certainly loves it. It even switches the video input if your TV supports it automatically.

For $35 I still think it's great to have.

I got one. Easy to set up, good quality, I really like it.

I'll have to get an HDMI splitter though. I got it more so for my bedroom and I forgot my bedroom TV only has one HDMI port. It's a hassle to get behind there and unplug hdmi plug in Chromecast and then switch it back out to DTV box.

Anyway, our set is only 1.5 yrs old, but I had to plug in the USB extension. A red light came on.

Does the USB cord need to be plugged in 24/7?

Almost ready to launch the app.

So I've had my Chromecast for a little under two weeks and while its nice and simple to use I think it's going back. I keep having the issue where the phone app won't recognize it on my network when it's powered on. The only way it seems to work is after I restart my router which is annoying. After I restart my router everything works perfect for a while and then I does it again.

I just wanted to post real quick about how happy I am with chromecast now. I had just been using it for netflix and youtube; but recently I downloaded Plex - and it has been an absolutely awesome improvement to an already sound set up.

Plex is incredible though. It has the set up as a media hub server, where you can access all the files from any computer (my chromebook in this case) and from there I can cast the media to my TV. Just so nice to be able to sit on the couch and watch movies.
