SpoilerSo I watched the episode again and thought I seen something. That old lady when she plays with Sansa hair, does she grab one of the jewels on the right shoulder? At least it looks like she does the way she cuffs her hand. It isnt really a spoiler but I wanted to ask if that jewel is worth any money or something? Or is it personal to her?
I went back to the last episode to try to count the jewels but every time I paused it was to blurry to do so.Last edited by Candyman5; 04-14-2014, 03:53 AM.PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os

I've read the books multiple times as well. Please do everyone a favor and either tag your post as (book spoilers) or keep your comments to yourself.
One of my favorite parts of watching Game of Thrones is listening to my roommate's theories. Watching my (non-book reading) friends' reactions to these episodes are almost as fun as watching the episode itself.Last edited by Hiro1; 04-14-2014, 04:40 AM.Psn: Plex-07Comment

Re: Game of Thrones Season 4 (aka A Storm of Swords: Part Deux)
We all agree that Tyriann was framed so I rule him out right away. The only people who touched the cup beside him was Sansa and Queen Margery.
When Sansa picked it up, you can see her hand go over it when she hands it to Tyriann. Could have palmed something in. She was also in a hurry to get out of there right after Joffrey took a sip.
I don't think its her though and believe Margery did it. She's been playing the game so well, doing and saying all the right things from the start. She's been plotting and doing the right things since she got to King's Landing. She took her shot when it was a good opportunity to pin it on someone else.
Margery had her hand on the cup right after the pie came out and created a nice diversion. Joffrey did have a sip before handing it to her and no immediate reaction but started choking right after he took a sip when he got the cup back.Comment

Just watched the episode. Splendid ending. Don't really care who did it, just glad it's done. Don't think I've ever loathed a character as much--testament to fine acting.Comment

Geez, I can't even read this thread with all the spoilers. I thought TWD thread was bad lol.
Great episode though. I really didn't see it coming. Although I did read a spoiler on here that someone would be poisoned at the wedding.. Luckily they never said the name.Comment

Are we so sure it's the wine? He cut the cake and it kind of stayed on it for a split second or am I just imagining these things. Plus I feel like that's when he first started having the poison issues.
Personally I think Margery did it, she had that pissed off mother face during most of his antics during the celebration. I'm gonna need to watch it again thoSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

I think Margaery poisoned the wine. Her back was turned as she set the goblet down so she might have spiked the drink then. Poor Tyrion gets blamed for everything. I did cheer at the ending though. Bad stuff happens to bad people too!

Re: Game of Thrones Season 4 (aka A Storm of Swords: Part Deux)
Sorry for the back to back posts, Just got home and used wiki so I could remember the character names.
My thoughts:
I am probably reaching, but IMO I don't think it was Margery or her mother, I just don't see the motive for needing it to be at that moment. She was on her way to become Queen and honestly it just seems like this would be a road block happening so quick. Also, would they really let Tyrion take the fall knowing that it could only mean further hardship for Sansa? They seemed to feel some sort of pain for her and all she had gone through at this point.
Possible candidates:
Shae: Did she really leave? Is there a connection between her and Prince Oberyn and his wife? Their fondness for "whores" is questionable on if there will be a connection between the three later on to me. So many twists in this series this is a bit of a reach, but I personally won't count it out. I do believe her love is real for Tyrion, but with Ty pushing her away to help try to save her may have forced her real motive to be played out sooner than expected. Oberyn obviously hates the Lannisters.
Sansa: The red wedding. Pay back?
The Fool: He felt like he owed Sansa something, noted in episode one. Did he possibly have something to do with this to return the favor for the red wedding. He had to have known something was happening, he was in a rush to let her know they had to leave ASAP.
Grand Maester Pycelle: Another reach, but he was just threatened by Cersai; That's the only motive I could think of, but he did always seem a bit over excited whenever Tyrion would be played a fool. He had to go to the kitchen to inform them of the left overs being fed to the dogs.
Also, remember in season one that Pycelle and Eddard discuss the possible poisoning of Jon Arryn and then Pycelle tells Ed that poison is the weapon of a woman or eunuch (Lord Varys?)5Comment

If we walk it back.
Joffrey pours the wine on Tyrion.
Makes him his cup bearer.
Demands more wine, drops and kicks the cup under the table.
While Tyrion is under the table Sansa picks up the cup for him.
Tyrion then pours the wine
Joffrey commands Tyrion to kneel
Margery distract Joffrey with the arrival of the pie.
Joffrey takes the cup from Tyrion, has a sip hands it to Margery.
Margery places the cup on the far side of the table away from Joffrey and Tryion.
Joffrey cuts into the pie, Margery feeds him a piece.
Joffrey calls to Tyrion as he and Sansa are leaving and commands him to serve him his wine.
Tyrion walks across the "stage" retrieves the cup from behind and to the right of Margery (left as we are watching on TV.)
As Tyrion grabs the cup he makes eye contact with Olenna, hands Joffrey his cup and walks away as Joffrey takes a sip....
There you go all the events and people who touched Joffrey's wine cup prior to his death.Moderator
