He's actually the 3rd guy to play the Mountain on the TV series. I'd have to rewatch the episodes, but I only remember seeing the Mountain once before in the series.

      Season 1:

      Season 2:

      Season 4:

I'll reserve judgement until after the fight. The second mountain was the worst IMO.

Yes I think you're right, there were three. But one of them had a miniscule appearance.

That second one had the look down.

Didn't even realize that was the Mountain in that scene from season 2. I guess because he had changed and was sitting down so didn't look 7'1". The guy who played the 2nd mountain also played the tall white walker. I liked the 1st one the best. I think that dude that seduced Khaleesi was a new character too. Its hard to keep straight when they change the actors because my wife is babbling or the dog starts creating a ruckus when I watch the show so I miss some of the dialogue. When you miss some dialogue and they change faces, its a disaster to try to catch everything. I like to watch each episode twice, but haven't had time.

After seeing the pics and remembering the past seasons I take it back. It was the original one I liked best.

I was pleasantly surprised by Hot Pie. In a world as bleak as Westeros, we could all use a little Hot Pie in our lives. Also, Sansa has been sullied. I know she's been beaten, but kissed?!? She'll never get that first kiss back. One more reason to murk Littlefinger.

I can't remember the last episode where we jumped through so many locations in a single episode. It was a bit refreshing to see more of everyone for a change.

The younger then The Hound part is a little weird but they can get away with it since obviously The Hound has been through some ****( melted face, etc).

New guy definitely looks like the badass they've been describing and what we saw briefly in S1

The new mountain seems like a Paul Heyman guy.

Yeah, the new guy is a little too baby-faced and gentle looking. Sure, he's enormous, but the initial Moutain actor had the sinister/crazy madman look down pat. So much of "it" is in the eyes. The original Mountain just looked like a lunatic. Those evil eyes. The new guy doesn't have that going for him.

I also had no idea that was the Mountain in S2.

Who were the guys he was killing in the beginning of the episode?

Agreed. Neither recast is particularly inspiring.
