Yes, it was very surprising to see them using something so new to the mythos.

I think I actually yelled out loud, "Court of Owls, Bitches".

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

My thought exactly. I saw the mask and was like, 'nah, no way.'

Clayface as Jim Gordon was laugh-out-loud hilarious to me. That is all.

No wait, I have a few more things to say. I'm one who believes that television shows should really have a lot of peaks and valleys, not blowing their loads way too early regarding things, building true character development and giving a subtle arc to an overall season. This season though, it seems, had like four arcs in it. First there was Jerome, then Galavan, then Mr. Freeze, then Dr. Strange (with a parade of villains including Galavan and Freeze, mind you).

The first season had its "villain of the week" tied in large part with very much Penguin and Fish Mooney running the helm with the crime bosses. It was very evened out. Though, of course, I think things escalated way too quickly that season as well. Heck, we already have The Riddler.

I guess a part of the issue I have is I could conceivably see this show running for 20 years, but they look more like they want to go 5 years. I think, above anything else, we can easily conclude that Batman himself won't appear soon enough to face any of these villains, and they will all appear when Bruce is just a young pup. That's fair, and that's their prerogative to pick and choose how they want to use their characters. And don't get me wrong, I have thoroughly enjoyed this season. I'm not necessarily concerned about "too weird, too fast," I just don't know if they will pace this out for a long time or not is all.

I for one am done with Gotham, it feels almost like they go into each season with a wing it mentality. There doesn't seem to be a plan, feels like they just threw numerous ideas to an episode and try to see what sticks. I hope there is a massive shift next season that can sway me into watching next season, but I don't see it happening especially with the cliffhanger last night.

Well, you're absolutely right. A lot of it was a knee-jerk reaction to fans saying: "We want more Batman villains! Where are Batman's villains?" Then they subtitle the first half of S2: Rise of the Villains. It just becomes a barrage and massacre of nothing but total carnage (no pun intended).

I think this series will be revisited by many when The Joker comes to being from the shadows, and I'll continue watching it regardless simply "because," but at the same time, they have the Blu-ray available at Best Buy for like ten bucks, and they couldn't give that away to me.

They should really change the title clip. If there's one thing that sells this short where people decide to judge a book by its cover, right there is one place.

This is part of the reason the show was sort of ruined for me, I thought there was something totally poetic of Batman becoming this symbol of hope, and in doing so he inspired the super villains that attack the very place he had hoped to protect. Now that there a Super Villains already running a mock in Gotham, it diminishes Batman's force to save the city. Bruce is nowhere near becoming Batman and with the Super Villains already in the wild, how in the world is the GCPD going to be able to stop them?

As far as the Joker, I'd be annoyed if it ends up being someone other than Jerome, cause no matter how they spin it the Joker is just some copy cat. I was pretty annoyed when Azrael was attacking the cops and the face that Bruce made seem to suggest that if we were to ever become Batman it would be inspired by how Azrael performed.

Exactly one of my thoughts. Or, let's say the GCPD stops the entire Gotham rogues' gallery, and the series finale ends with Bruce putting on the cowl. We assume that means, "Okay, any more crime that comes through he will be able to put an end to," but part of the problem is anyone he takes on after that will not be his villains. I know we leave the rest to our imagination anyway and we got to see our villains, but imaginatively so... everyone that we may have some attachment to has been taken care of at that point.

I'm back and forth on the matter regarding the actual actor who plays The Joker, because I thought the guy who played Jerome was fantastic. However, you're right about the copycat thing. I thought that was a unique take on the matter, but if Joker is inspired by somebody else, mmmmmm... doesn't really work out the same way.

What you thought about Bruce was exactly what I thought about Bruce, whose character development is perfect by the way. The only thing is I think the writers feel the need to explain away why he will become Batman, and that Azrael escape is the hint to the audience of, "Oh, so that explains his want to be theatrical." I can go with it, but I don't think they had to do that either.

I agree with all those points, I think they could've used Ra's for Bruce's methods.
