He was also a secret to people that aren't watching trailers, so try spoilering that.

So we are spoilering trailers now where literally EVERY SINGLE ARTICLE published after the trailer has mentioned it. Unless people are going to plug their ears and run screaming anytime Batman v Superman is mentioned for the next four months its not a spoiler. Its in a trailer for gods sake this has gotten ridiculous.

People will flock because it's Supes & Batman, but this is looking like it's gonna suck. Every clip I've seen and all the imagery I've seen plus everything I've read just doesn't look or feel right.

I'll restate that, for me I think this film is going to be horrible.

I'm sure that the masses or casuals will enjoy it tho.

Did you know that some people who are interested in a movie don't watch the trailers or read any articles? Fascinating, I know.

But the logical thing for those people going out of their way to avoid marketing for that film to do is to go to a message board that discusses the film.

You're right, I guess all this wasn't necessary then.

Though I did re-watch Man of Steel earlier this evening, and after listening to the Kevin Smith podcast like twenty times since last seeing it, I did grow a much larger appreciation for the film in every scene except any scene that involves combat, and very few that involve flying... sad to say. The rest seemed very enjoyable and well-done compared to the first time I saw it. Still not in love with the first twenty minutes on Krypton, even though I understand why they're necessary.

Anyway, I'm becoming more accepting of this universe that's being made, and I'll just have to see this film without seeing this trailer if I can hold out long enough.

In the case of the villain in this new trailer, his origin in the comics was very relevant to his place in the Superman story. I don't want to get too in depth, in for those who are avoiding the trailers. For example, the first movie appearance of Bane (think it was Baman and Robin, right? I mix those two movies up) was, well, a travesty. You don't do Bane like that. On the flip side, there are timeline issues all the over place in the latest X-Men movies as well as inconsistencies from movie to movie in some aspects, but that's fine, those movies just work IMO.

I digress, it really isn't that big of a deal to me anyway. The movie looks like a good time. Ben Affleck isn't blowing me away in the trailers, but I am digging Wonder Woman more and more each time I see her (albeit for only a couple seconds at a time, admittedly).

Within a day or so of the trailer that was pretty understandable, as that was a surprise inclusion. Would have been lame to post the trailer for all to see along with 'omg Doomsday!'

What is funny is even the Tapatalk preview for the thread is Doomsday.

Dude, easier to spoil-tag than get people bitter at you. I'm avoiding the trailer for good reason... every trailer in the last decade should not have been released.

I don't watch trailers for movies I know I'm going to see for the very reason that I don't want to know more than I should. I'll probably start avoiding this thread in general if this is going to be the mindset for the rest of the posts.

And yet those people are visiting a thread dedicated to the movie on an internet forum? What could go wrong?

Message deleted. Thread avoided. No point in trying to discuss a movie on that movie's discussion board when despite a reasonable expectation to the contrary it's to be understood that people going out of their way to avoid information about a movie are going to visit a message board about that movie. I completely understand wanting to avoid this information and wanting to be surprised and don't want to ruin that for someone, but what I don't understand is the thinking that it would be reasonable for me to take an approach that is not the norm and then impose my approach to a subject onto the majority and expect them to go out of their way to meet my special interest needs. Easier to avoid discussing the movie on the movie's discussion board than risk offending someone.

My only additional comment is this. What if someone wanted to discuss the readily available information about the film and in released marketing but avoid leaked plot lines and things people should not know. Should it then be a roll of the dice for them to click on something that people have labeled as a spoiler as to if it really is a spoiler or just something that was common knowledge but a select group of people don't want to hear?

Trailer kinda makes me wonder why this is still called Batman v Superman. They kinda blew all tension between the two out of the water by revealing the villain and that they eventually team up. Now I know we all knew they would team up, but idk I feel like they undercut all the scenes of batman and superman fighting in one trailer.

Trailer started out really good to with Clark and Bruce talking.

Civil War's trailer did a better job at keeping the mystery and tension up.

I couldn't care less myself because I just assume when clicking on a thread people will spoil things. But I think the consensus is that you can give a good hint at what you are talking about, as in "a villain showed in trailer", then spoiler tag the pertaining info that goes with said hint. It is then the choice of the user to either click or not. At least that is how I view it.

I thought this movie was supposed to be a transition for JL per se. Where it would introduce WW, Aquaman, etc. and then they would team up in that. And I also thought I remember reading Doomsday was going to be the villain in that.

Doomsday is too specific to Superman imo, Darkseid is their Thanos, it'll be him.
