I'm not a super comic book fan but from what I've read Doomsday does not ever truly die either and/or there are more iterations of him than one. As I understand it, he dies and comes back with a weakness fixed that killed him the previous time.

So if that's correct, per the comic book stuff I've read, couldn't Doomsday come back bigger and badder than ever in future films?

He did that during the movie, though his evolutions weren't from killing blows, that's what the explosion stuff was, him adapting/evolving.

That was roughly his comic origin too, thrown to the wolves on a hostile world, killed immediately. Then his genetic material was collected, cloned, and the process was repeated until he lived longer, longer, then one day killed the creatures and came for creator. Accelerated evolution basically.

Man, I loved everything about this movie. So good.

And I absolutely LOVED what they're doing with the Flash, just like the special effects with him. The TV show is my favorite show, but the tidbits in this movie were more...believable? The lightning messing with the camera, etc.

I've seen the movie twice now, and I think the movie flows way better on the 2nd viewing. Whereas there was some confusion in the first viewing, that was mostly gone on the 2nd. The story wasn't all-over the place as most people say it is, but I do agree that the pacing is still an issue because of sudden cuts.

Some thoughts on Batman and being ruthless:

Batman kills a lot of people using his vehicles and specifically, as far as I can tell, one guy when he's on foot (i.e. fighting them hand-to-hand) in the warehouse sequence when he knocks the grenade off one guy and that same guy goes after it for some reason then blows up. The showdown with KGBeast, interestingly enough, looked like Bruce shot at a gas line (not KGBeast's gas tank) before he immediately ran to cover Martha because KGBeast was about to use that flamethrower, which then triggered the blast.

Alfred mentioned that Bruce started to change when Superman showed up -- a fever, a rage, that turns good men cruel -- so we can surmise his recent change in extreme tactics has gone on for around 1.5 years. With all the talk of what good "promises have done. How many good people are left. How many have stayed that way" and "criminals being like weeds; pick one up and another just takes its place."

Batman, in this version, is on the verge of moral bankruptcy. 20 years of fighting evil and where has it gotten him? This is why it struck me when he tells Alfred that bringing down Superman will be a far more effective legacy than putting away criminals that only get replaced anyway -- in his mind, he's guaranteeing the safety of Earth. Far as he knows, Superman is the only god-like being in the universe and lo and behold, he has the tool to kill him. Good thing his ancestors were hunters, because that's exactly what he's setting out to do.

Fast-forward to Batman with his foot on Superman's neck, hearing "Martha" and him finally realising that's he's becoming the very thing he's fought against for so long. His dad's final words, repeating itself except this time, Batman is playing Joe Chill. The execution is a bit hokey, but I understand the spirit of how it's enough to jolt Bruce to his senses.

So as violent (and murderous inside a vehicle) as Batman may be in BvS, I can accept the interpretation of the character as long as he doesn't remain that way moving forward. I think he already took his first step toward regaining his morality when he didn't brand Lex at the end. Let's see how it goes moving forward.

That's where Marvel kicks their tails into the future. They present the problem the struggle and the fight...they get to the point.... That's without throwing in a bunch of emo stuff and over complicating simple matters.

I personally like that I have to dig a bit because there are answers there (in the movie). Granted, it may not work for everybody but I welcome the approach. The only Marvel movie that's even come close to something like that is Winter Soldier and I loved it and still consider it the best Marvel film to date.

Finally saw it. And to me, this was not a good film. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good either. It suffers tremendously from a FILM perspective and there was something about this film that really just pissed me off. After saying all of this, I'll still own it.

Where to begin. I've read the comics so I know why Batman is skeptical of Superman, BUT, this film does not do enough to establish that tension between the characters. This is where the film suffers from not having an established universe and the audience not growing with the actors as these characters. This will play big into what pissed me off about the movie.

Secondly, the film does not do enough to establish the tension between Superman and the people. I just didn't feel it. To me more was needed to really establish the sense of betrayal or the turn of the people against superman.

Third and for me the most egregious sin of this film. How are you going to cheapen one of the biggest moments in comic book history, not just for DC, but for Marvel or anyone else that was putting out comics. As one who collected comics from 87 onward I don't see how anybody who's been collecting since then approves of this move. You take the Death of Superman and you cheapen it by basically making it a blip on the radar in a film that you are trying to set up the Justice League. Who's decision was that???

To me this is the most egregious sin of this film because that's telling me that they are not going to tell that story. And this moment fails on many levels. There was no feeling behind it. I didn't get the sense that we were losing anything because we haven't grown with Cavill enough as Superman, ie, the Universe is basically un-established.

This is where Marvel has them beat like a drum. Let's take an example, if Cap, Iron Man or anyone of them dies, it's going to be heartfelt, because we've grown with Evans, Downey Jr, so on and so forth playing the role. The Universe is established. We've had one film with Cavill as Superman and now we are moved to the death of Superman???? Of course, he's not dead but whatever. To me this movie tried to tackle way too much and for Warner Brothers and Snyder to treat the Death of Superman as a mere side item is straight up terrible.

Last, I wasn't a fan of Luthor.

I want to like this film. I'll definitely see the Wonder Woman film.

Saw the movie for the first time on Wednesday. First the pacing issues people see I don't see at all. There is really not that much going on and the action and the characters where balanced really while. Second I found the movie over all to be kind of sort of good but could have been great if for mostly 1 thing but it was a big thing. Lex Lex Lex he brought down this movie so much. First his dialog was so bad and second Jesse as Lex has got to be one of the worst miscast in a movie I have ever seen before! If we just had a actor who was good and much better dialog the movie would have went from like a 7 out of 10 to a 9 out of 10. The movie would have went from like around my 17ish favorite CBM of all time to like 8th or so. I really had just about no issues out side of Lex but man Lex was bad! I was surprised Ben made a great batman thought he was going to suck and the WW music was great best music in the movie.

lol captain America shield. Yeah she didn't do much but much more and she would have taken away from the rest of the movie and her music was great.
