SpoilerI don't think he killed him though. Looked like it was by the shoulder. Ruthless, yes, but it's been established this was going to be a ruthless Batman.Comment

First act was solid. Then they try to stuff everything at the end and it became a mess. They could have done without most of dream sequences.
Editing at the end was terrible. Guaranteed a fan will recut this movie and make it better. There's a good movie in there, lots of good stuff.
I didn't hate it though, I was still entertained. There was A to B+ potential but came out a C.

This is exactly how I felt about it. They just tried to throw too much at once at you and it was a mess. Acting was great and the characters were great too.NFL - Buffalo Bills

Re: Batman Vs Superman - Dawn Of Justice
'Batman v Superman' is Warner Bros.' biggest box-office opening ever. The movie also broke the record for the the largest pre-summer opening day ($82 million), the largest opening in the month of March (beating "The Hunger Games," $152 million), largest opening ever for Easter weekend (beating "Furious 7," $147 million), and the largest opening for the film's studio, Warner Bros ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2," $169 million).Comment

Re: Batman Vs Superman - Dawn Of Justice
Ultimate Cut dvd/blu-ray coming July 16. Zack Snyder gives details. http://www.superherohype.com/news/36...tails#/slide/1SpoilerWe call it the Ultimate Cut because to me it’s a deeper dive into that world and there are storylines in there that get fleshed out by the longer version,” Snyder says. “I would say that we didn’t really take out much of the Superman/Batman story because I felt like, you know that’s kind of the movie, but there was some sort of interstitial stuff that surrounds the story, that kind of finishes some of the ideas that we trimmed back, and I think that’s what you get. There’s a little bit of action, there’s a little bit of violence that we trimmed out for the MPAA that we put back. The Batman warehouse rescue, there’s a couple shots of Doomsday that were too intense. Then there’s a little bit longer ending, sort of the ending sequence, and the opening of the movie, the North Africa sequence is really much different. It was in there until very recently, so all of it’s finished. It was really just a function of time, to be honest. Because the movie’s long now, long-ish—I don’t think it’s long, but when you get over two and a half hours the studio starts getting nervous. I’m not JamesCameron who’s like ‘No it’s three hours, suck it!’, which is cool by the way. I just wanted to try and get it to a length that is work-able.”

Re: Batman Vs Superman - Dawn Of Justice
WB just released a deleted scene from the movie, which I would assume will be included in the Ultimate Cut Blu-Ray release.
Not watching it myself since I wanna see it once I buy the blu-ray, but this is apparently a major tease for Justice League and fully explains why LexSpoilergoes DING DING DING at the end of the film.

Re: Batman Vs Superman - Dawn Of Justice
One thing I really enjoy about this movie - all the world building! As a huge DC fan, it's a dream how much of the DC universe they're pulling into the movie-verse. Sure, it hurts the film to a certain degree but it sure does get you excited for what's to come.Comment

Co-sign Rock. There were so many dream sequences I was waiting on Freddy Krueger to make an appearance. I give it a 6.5 out of 10. There were some positives imo, especially Affleck/Irons/Gadot. Watching the movie I got the feeling Snyder REALLY wanted to do a standalone Bat flick and was irritated he had to put Superman in it. I think Cavill is a solid actor (Liked him a lot in "The Tudors") but I feel the screenwriters are failing his character and not giving him much to work with. Wish they would have given S one more standalone flick before BvS to better establish himself. Eisenberg was a borderline fail imo(I blame the writers and his performance equally-Just not a fan of that interpretation). With all that said, this film is not The Last Airbender 2.0 or something like every critic is making it out to be but it certainly had some holes in it..EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Re: Batman Vs Superman - Dawn Of Justice
I just hope the ultimate cut will make things smoother.
Another thing that bugged me too
Spoilerwas how Bruce stumbled upon the Justice League file folder. Pretty weak imo, and could have just left it at showing the logos or just come up with another way instead of just showing a couple cheesy video clips. It's probably the laziest Easter eggs of all comicbook movies. Even Amazing Spider-Man 2 did a better job of showing the Sin 6.
Personally I would have shown each member how they were affected by the Doomsday fight as it was going on.

Re: Batman Vs Superman - Dawn Of Justice
SpoilerSnyder wants Batman/WW to 'struggle' to piece the team together without Superman. If the movie showed that each of them were specifically affected by the Doomsday battle, each character would already have a piece of motivation to join their battle and that would seemingly make it too easy to piece the JL together.Comment

Re: Batman Vs Superman - Dawn Of Justice
Saw the movie this afternoon. I have no clue where all the criticism is coming from. I must not have seen the same movie as the guys saying it was terrible. It wasn't perfect by any means, but there's a good movie in there, lots of fluff though.
I was as skeptical as the next guy about Affleck as Batman, but man, he killed it. Think that Batman is better than Bale's Batman. Alfred was pretty damn good too, just seemed too close in age to Bruce. Needed a different kind of Alfred from Michael Caine's to fit in this universe. Wonder Woman surprised a lot too. But with Lex, I almost feel they miscast that character with Eisenberg, just did not find him good.
SpoilerIt did feel like a bridge to the Justice League movie, but was good. I like Supes giving up his life for the better good. The intro for the rest of the JL wasn't too bad, I kinda liked it. The best part of Lex was him getting his hair cut at the end.
Question about Justice League movie.
SpoilerDoes Supes come back to life for this or will they be going on without him? The dirt moving at the end I'm sure was meant as something, but I'm not sure how they bring him back.St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams

Was never a fan of Bale as Batman. I always felt he needed a throat lozenge. I didn't think Eisenberg was cast correctly either. Though haven't seen this as of yet.Comment

Re: Batman Vs Superman - Dawn Of Justice
SpoilerYes, Superman will be back. Snyder said that a part of the JL movie will be the team - mainly Batman, I'd assume - trying to figure out how to accomplish that. One of the contributing factors to having Supes "die" was so Bruce would be the one struggling to unite the heroes without the God backing him up, as there's a bit more drama in the hesitance of the League forming.Last edited by Beantown; 03-28-2016, 07:39 PM.Comment
