Batman and Superman in the same live action movie isn't enough?

There's a pretty good reason for that.

About 2 weeks ago, you made 2 posts back to back saying how this would be "one of the worst movies ever made".

Now it's going to be so awesome it should be 4 hours long?

I am still a fan. I just hope it doesn't turn out that way.

I'm a huge Batman nerd and a massive comic book movie junkie and you would have a hard time convincing me to go watch a 4 hour movie in the theater.

Actually, there's probably zero chance. I struggle with 2.5 hour movies these days.

I love everything about DC. I remember struggling when I was kid during the LOTR movies in theater, certainly ain't doing that again

The reason you don't see 4 hr movies (or close to that) anymore, other than what others have said is that it'd cost WAY too much to film something that long and release it as one big flick. This is the reason why we've seen the trend of movies cutting a story at a natural middle point and releasing two films back to back to tell one story.

i personally LOVE long movies but I can't see myself watching them at the theatres.

Here's an idea. How about releasing this movie along with screenings of "Man of Steel", "The Dark Knight", and "Superman II"? It can be shown in the same theaters. The tickets for the additional movies would be half price. That could give the public another reason to attend the movie. What are your thoughts on this?

I can watch all of those from the comfort of my own home, so nope.

How about this revolutionary idea? Make the movie good and people will show up, as they always do to superhero movies that are good.

Actually, I would love to see Superman and Batman 89 on the big-screen, but typically the theaters are the ones handling those promotions and not the movie studios.

Not even good. Superhero movies can be just average and people will still turn out in droves.

Well, yeah, but I'd still prefer it to be good.

At least people had the sense not to go totally nuts on Green Lantern and not even Megan McSlutty Fox could make Jonah Hex a top flight blockbuster. (Though truth be told, it could be the greatest merging of the western genre and superhero comics and I STILL would be wary just because of her presence.)

Agreed about the extended time. I love the LOR movies, but those extended versions do nothing for me. It would appeal only to the given genre geeks and not the mainstream.

It could end up feeling like:
