The premiere started out slow (naturally), but I loved the ending.

Some of these Breaking Bad touchstones coming back to life bring a smile to my face.

I thought the episode was pretty entertaining.

                  Looking forward to tonight.

Do keep in mind that this is a planned prequel and sequel. Though Gilligan isn't saying at what point it becomes a sequel.

My guess is they time jump every now and then when something in his past has an affect on his present.

I like the reveal at the end, but if they need to be careful and liberal with their use of BrBa characters. Mike and Huell are the obvious exceptions, and Tuco was ok, but they can't keep trotting out the BrBa cast. I'm sure Vince has it under control but that was a minute red flag.

There will be more for sure, especially the cartel side. I'm betting Hector will have a big part of the story and I'm thinking Gus will also make an appearance.

I sort of understand what you are saying, as I believe the show can not use too many BrBa elements to keep it afloat, but I also wouldn't go as far as saying it's a red flag, minute or not. There will, of course, be some overlap. I trust that the execution of the ties between the two shows will be just enough to complement BrBa, but will not use BrBa as a life boat, but more of a springboard.

They can "trot out BrBa cast" as much as they want, as long as the show maintains it's own identity, which I have full faith in Vince and Co to make sure that happens.
