Its a damn shame this happened under the circumstances granted i seen a handful of his movies growing up, its ironic in a sad way comedians have such darkness living within in some form rather drugs or mental disorders

If there's one thing that can be taken away from Robin Williams' death, is that depression is no joking manner. There's a huge difference between being sad and depressed. No matter what the case, suicide is never an ample solution. There are always dark days, everyone has seen them, but there always will be brighter days in the future, its all a matter of having the durability and patience to see through to those brighter days.

This reminds me too much of Chris Farley's death. Granted Chris' death wasn't an intentional suicide, to see someone who gave us all so many laughs the way he and Robin did pass away in a shocking way, just really sucks.

I don't think Farley and Williams talent-wise are even close. And in light of what you said, I didn't get that sense at all. I'm not lauding suicide, but Farley's way of exiting was so engrossed in excessive behavior.

The only other celebrity death that had hit me like Robin Williams was Kurt Cobain.

That's very sad and painful to read

It almost sounds like this wasn't his first attempt at a suicide.

We were out to sea running sea trials in the Pacific near the coast when I originally read about this whole thing and man news traveled fast around our ship. Later that night, we all found Aladdin in the MWR movie collection onboard and watched it on the Mess Decks.

                        Robin Williams dead at 63

This is a true piece of my childhood gone and it's pretty damn sad. So many of his movies I loved. Three of my favorites are Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire and Jumanji.

Like others have said, suicide isn't the answer at all. Life is never that bad to where you can't cope or overcome trying circumstances. It's all temporary.

Not sure if it was posted in here, didn't see it, but his wife also came out and mentioned that Robin Williams was in the early stages of Parkinsons but he wasn't ready to share that with the public.
