Re: The Walking Dead (Season 5)
Yeah that's what I told my girl while we were watching it, why not let him drink it or take the water and boil it.Last edited by Sinner; 02-17-2015, 08:56 AM.-= Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.=- Edward MurphyComment

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 5)
I am sort of ambivalent towards this show. I am invested into it now so I doubt I will give up watching, but when I watch a show like "The Americans" I can't help but notice how well everything is done from plot concepts to character development and suspense and action. I just think this show is treading water with no direction on where it wants to go.
Every good story should have a beginning, a middle, and an end....this show to me seems like it has no end and every plot/episode seems to follow a predictable path or end result.
This isn't being asked rhetorically.... I truly wanna know your input. Why is everyone else watching? Are you in the same boat as me? Do you just really like the show and walking dead universe? What are you hoping to see that will bring about change?
Just curious to see where everyone is with their feelings on the show. My core group of friends thinks this show does no wrong and are critical of nothing about it.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

I still watch the show because I read the comics and there are plenty of good story lines that are still in the bag ready to come out.Attached FilesComment

I'll keep watching though. The thing with the Walking Dead is that they will slog through a span of 5 or 6 iffy episodes that don't really advance the plot at all, but then they will knock it out of the park here and there and I'll be reminded of why I watch in the first place.Comment

No....
Boiling might kill some harmful bacteria....but it's not going to remove toxins...especially toxic chemicals.
Water containing toxins or toxic chemicals will never be safe to drink.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 5)
I enjoy it.... is it on the same level as some of the top shows out there? Absolutely not. It's more of a guilty pleasure, but with that said sometimes it can have a run of 2 or 3 episodes that are top notch... then we may get twice that in "meh" episodes. I guess you can't always have battles versus zombie's/insane people every episode, so I'm not sure how to really fix the lulls that they have.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 5)
I feel the same as some of you. So far the episodes haven't kept my interest like before. This last episode was better than first imo.
There's been some really great episodes up to this point and great showdowns , and I guess I'm expecting too much of that. Which may be part of the problem with the way things are going now because the characters left I don't really get pulled in with. That may be an issue going forward and I'm getting the sense that maybe the problem with characters is that they weren't built in past seasons to have anything dynamically evolve with them going forward except a new villain group. They're at the point where they are what they are and if they started changing now it would also be weird to me.

Thanks for the input guys, I thought there were possibly some in the same boat as me. What this TV show lacks really becomes apparent when you watch other great TV shows such as "The Americans".Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 5)
The formula of: find a new area, stabilize and make area livable, **** hits the fan, hit the road, find new area, stabilize and make area livable, **** hits the fan, hit the road is becoming too cyclic and tired. There is no clear endgame or goal for the group. They had something with the Eugene could get them to the cure story line, but once they found out it was a lie, the standard cyclic story resumed. The "**** hitting the fan" part of the cycle can be psycho Dawn, the Governor, a horde, psycho Shane or whatever; but at the end of the day its the same cyclic story.Comment
