Well....if there is an "endgame"...that would mean the end of the show.
Of course they are going to keep moving/fighting...having problems and new antagonists.
What else could they really do?

Well...having an endgame... or rather overarching goal... does not necessarily... mean the show would end just because...you have an endgame...or overarching goal.

When you have a bunch of your fanbase getting tired of the same rinse and repeat... you should consider mixing it up a bit. The comic has done this in a way... but comics inherently... have more time and patience to work with... from their audience. TV shows... cant keep running the same thing... over and over and over... and expect their audience to just eat it... silently.

I'm not really arguing that it could get tiresome....my point is that reaching the goal would result in...no more show.
With the immense popularity of it....they have to keep up the formula.
They kind of have an endgame...it just keeps changing.

I thought the show really improved with the new show runner until these last two post hiatus episodes. It had gotten back to a show that I watch asap after it airs for the first half of this season. I don't mind slow episodes but back to back and right after a break is a bit of a drag. I found myself screwing around on my phone and basically going through the motions waiting for the episode to finally end.

I found it a bit off that they focus on lack of food/water after the show basically skipped the group finally leaving Georgia and traveling to Virginia. Especially since if I remember correctly one of the characters mentioned it was smooth sailing to get there. They managed for 2-3 weeks traveling cross country just fine but now **** has hit the fan.

I still get excited every Sunday night to watch it...
I don't watch a lot (other than Netflix when I can) but I won't miss TWD..

I view the slow episodes as somewhat of character development. The last two haven't been the best, but if you've read the comics you know what's coming towards the end of this season and next. For those haven't read the comics and are 'getting tired of the repetitiveness,' just wait a little longer.

I just think this show is treading water with no direction on where it wants to go.

Every good story should have a beginning, a middle, and an end....this show to me seems like it has no end and every plot/episode seems to follow a predictable path or end result.

This isn't being asked rhetorically.... I truly wanna know your input. Why is everyone else watching? Are you in the same boat as me? Do you just really like the show and walking dead universe? What are you hoping to see that will bring about change?

Just curious to see where everyone is with their feelings on the show. My core group of friends thinks this show does no wrong and are critical of nothing about it.
Same as you, invested in it for 5 years, but to be honest, I've thought this show has sucked for the past 2-3.

I still look forward to every show. I don't get hooked onto many shows, including ones like Breaking Bad and honestly, unless it's cartoons or animated shows, I just don't get hooked.

The Walking Dead is the only show that is can't miss for me.
