Re: Top 10 HBO Series of All Time
Spoiler(wasn't carried away with Tony's getting shot in S6EP1 which lead to several surreal dreams/hallucination over a multi episode arc)
But season five introduced Tony Blundetto (Steve Buscemi), Phil Leotardo, "Feech" La Manna (Robert Loggia), and Angelo Garepe (Joe Santos) as made men who were all getting out of prison about the same time (they called them "Class of 2004"). All of these characters contributed greatly to what was a fine season, even Garepe whose screen time was limited.Comment

"Richie is gone."
What an awesome scene (one of many in that episode).

Re: Top 10 HBO Series of All Time
I was bored so I poked around Amazon to see if they had anything decent to watch and saw Carnivale on there, I forgot just how good that show was. Meant to waste an hour, ended up watching all of season 1 and had to force myself to not just go on into the next season. If Amazon had played right through the seasons like Netflix does I wouldn't have stopped, I couldn't have stopped.Comment

I've always felt that one was underrated. The second season is one of my favorite seasons of any show.

Re: Top 10 HBO Series of All Time
I had posted my top 5 a bunch of pages back but wanted to round it out. So here we go.
) Game Of Thrones - This show is amazing. I binged watched seasons 1-5 in December and now here we are in season 6. I thoroughly look forward to Sunday night with baited breath. I love Medieval fantasy movies, shows and RPG's (LOTR, Skyrim, Excalibur etc) and this is right in my wheel house.
2) Band of Brothers - Quite frankly, it should be shown in high school US History as required viewing.
3) Six Feet Under - This show was dark, full of humor and simply great.
4) Curb Your Enthusiasm - Larry David....genius.
5) Oz - Loved every single minute of this prison drama. Awesome TV.
6) The Sopranos - You know you loved this.
7) Sex And The City - My guilty pleasure and some quality time with my wife every Sunday night.
8) The Wire - Gritty, real....intense. One the best indeed.
9) Entourage - I loved.....loved seasons 1-4 then it fizzled...badly.
10) Dream On - Some of you may be too young to remember this one....but I loved it. Superbly funny series about a divorced dad and they also used old TV clips to express emotions. It's highly dated now...but for it's time in the late 80's it was racy TV.
I never watched Deadwood incredibly and I had heard it was awesome. So that is on my list as well as Rome.Last edited by Armor and Sword; 05-12-2016, 03:19 PM.Now Playing on PS5:

1. Sopranos
2. Six Feet Under
3. The Wire
4. True Blood
5. Game of Thrones
6. Boardwalk Empire
7. Veep
8. Silicon Valley
9. Entourage
10. The Newsroom
I made the mistake of jumping in and enjoying Hung and Bored to Death then eventually learned that both series were cancelled. Each list is so open to debate and I don't even agree with my list. I have enjoyed each series on its own merits. What great entertainment HBO has produced over the years.Comment

With that being said, did you not watch True Blood. Or did you not like it?
It just seems like we like a lot of the same shows for the same reasons but you don't mention True Blood.
I absolutely loved the first 4 seasons and the last season of True Blood. It is my 3rd favorite show of all time behind GOT's (which is just truly amazing, my fav show of all time and its not even close) and Lost.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment
