Leto will get slamed for his performance because it wont be as good as Heath Ledgers Joker, He will be held to a impossible standard. He is essentially following one of the all time great performances in a movie.

While that's true, that doesn't really do much for his opinion of them. I don't care for the "HAHAHA" ones or the on his forehead (which I assume we will see and it's actually the worst one). Cool we won't see them for most of the movie, but when we do, I still won't like those ones in particular.

I feel like they said this same thing about Ledger when he was cast as the joker. I wont make the same mistake and judge before seeing the performance.

They said the exact same thing about Heath Ledger. Everyone hated it when they announced that casting. And now here we are, 7 years later saying that Ledger's performance is the new measuring stick.

I'm all for modernizing Joker and all that. But a bunch of completely ridiculous tattoos of things like...grins and HAHAHA and jesters and then Joker get's 'damaged' tattoo right in the middle of his forehead? That's a bit much.



I think the above picture does a pretty solid job of illustrating the problem with his Joker look. Not judging how Leto will do performance wise with the role, I'll reserve judgement since he could knock it out of the park. Strictly aesthetically speaking, his look is pretty terrible imo.


I don't think anybody would have any legit complaints if we got either one of the following as opposed to the "edgy" Joker who I guess is supposed to be proven to be psychotic because he has a lot of tattoos. Guess we've traveled back to 1991 when lots of tattoos weren't a common thing.

That picture does nothing to illustrate the problem with the look this Joker has.

And both of those "alternates" look a lot worse then the tattoo look we have now.

Going to disagree they are worse, they are still not good because of the stupid pose, but they are no worse.

The tattoos are just campy, with all the comic book imagery within the confines of the fictional world (this isn't Deadpool). It doesn't scream "Joker" it screams "hipster Joker fan" and that's not a good look. What's funny about that Affleck image is that Joker image would make more sense with all the Batman tattoos as it would feed into the Joker's obsession.

Pose wasn't the right word, it's the fact he's shirtless with the scream thing going on, it's not a good look.
