Re: Supergirl (CBS TV Series)
Lol. Thanks for the shout out speedy...jaybe is right as this show has gotten better each and every episode. Great casting and they did a good job on manhunter look.EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Loving this show and hope it stays around, was so excited that Martian Manhunter was revealed...is it possible to have a mark out moment on a TV show? lol-= Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.=- Edward MurphyComment

Re: Supergirl (CBS TV Series)
I've thought that "Hank" was MM for a while, especially when he wasn't doing any evil stuff, and knew it after he diffused that bomb a few weeks ago. It's good to see him get some run here, especially after the character was unceremoniously removed from being a founding member of the Justice League in the New 52, and probably also won't be a founding member of the Justice League in the DC cinematic universe either. I hope they don't keep this secret from Kara for too long. They need to be doing superhero stuff together. The MM CGI looked great, IMO.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: Supergirl (CBS TV Series)
I am vividly intrigued by the dynamic with Cat and Kara.
Interesting plot decision that will make/break the series I think. The fun and awkward moments were with Kara avoiding the secret so I'm mildly disappointed that that's gone.
But...Cat is awesome. We'll see how it unfolds.

Re: Supergirl (CBS TV Series)
That could also lead to less of "Kara" and more of "Supergirl", since there's not much reason for her real life since basically everyone relevant in her real life, knows about her/Supergirl.
Hope not though, cause regular Kara has random/funny moments at times.Last edited by Majingir; 12-15-2015, 12:20 AM.Comment

Cat is awesome, and much too smart to not figure this out sooner than later.I am vividly intrigued by the dynamic with Cat and Kara.

Some really good action scenes at the end.
That's a good point. I'll contradict my first statement by wondering if Kara can find a way to convince Kat that she's not Supergirl...Comment

Re: Supergirl (CBS TV Series)
I disagree, actually.
I think that the scenes and flashbacks to the Kryptonite world are just unentertaining. The fight scenes with Astra were just "bleh" to me.
The place this show excels is in the "real world" with Kara interacting with Olsen, Winn and Cat. Seeing Kara dorkishly smile and Olsen and Winn dorkishly smile at Kara is fun TV...I hope to see Winn and Olsen really get in sarcastic and annoying fights at each other. I kinda hope to see a struggle between Lucy and Kara.
More importantly though, the dynamic between Kara and Cat is indubitably THE center of this show and frankly what I enjoy best. It's obvious Kara is learning from Cat and the writers have made the epiphanies or "moral compass" of Cat to help Kara in her new superhero role.
Superman has already spun out years of the undercover hero in the office. We've all seen that and I think this show is trying a different spin on it. I mean...who knows...what kind of things will the egotistical Cat try to employ Kara to do? There's many more plot lines that I don't think Superman has ventured toward that can be wildly NEW entertaining TV.
In some way or another, this show has to differentiate itself from its "cousin" if it wants to sustain a long life.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.

Re: Supergirl (CBS TV Series)
Agree with 90% of your post but I don't see how that has ever been a problem. Her connection with the "cousin", not necessarily any similarity, is a bonus for the show.
How about Hank (Martian Manhunter) telling Alex that Superman gets a kick out of the fact that he can't read Supes mind? Obviously they have a well established relationship.
The current battle brings to mind some parts of Superman II, and you can see the limits of special effects in an early 80's movie versus a 2015 TV show.Comment

Re: Supergirl (CBS TV Series)
I absolutely hated Cat in the pilot, but agree now that she is integral to the show. We know that she is really sharp or else she would have never been able to achieve the level of success that she has, but this latest development has shown a level of inductive reasoning that very few characters(especially women) are allowed to display in TV shows. I like the narrative decision, as I think that that this new aspect to their relationship will allow both characters to grow in a much more interesting fashion.
I also like the Krypton flashbacks. In the long history of the Superman/girl mythos we've seen hardly any of the pre explosion time on the planet, I like seeing exactly how they got to that point. I know that the show is geared toward the powerful women characters' story, but I still would like to see Zor-El get some run in the flashbacks too.
Astra as a super powered eco-terrorist is also a good choice, IMO. I hope that they don't switch her up to a garden variety world domination villain, ever.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: Supergirl (CBS TV Series)
Oh no...I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply that Superman should be lessened. The scenes WITH Superman (like a couple of episodes back when he saved her life) were awesome. Rather, I was stating that the plot lines and "struggles" should be a different take to a Kryponite versus what Superman went thru.
I think of another Marvel character, Spiderman. We all loved Tobey Maguire but the latest version (Amazing Spiderman) was a great movie but it was just a rehash of something we'd already seen so much, you know?
Do you think I'm wrong (I ask sincerely as I want the series to succeed, not sarcastically)?Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
