Great mid-season finale. Finally having an actual good villain on the show. That Reign-Supergirl fight was probably the best one of the series too. And she can actually hurt SG and basically almost kill her as well.

Hope they wrap up the Mon-El stuff asap. I know they probably want to keep him around for obvious off-screen reasons, but his characters involvement isn't needed. Just ship him off(no pun intended) to the 31st century and wrap up that stuff.

And James-Lena?! Both of which would've been better with Kara lol.

I thought it was a pretty good mid season finale also, don't know much about Reign but her costume could have been a little better, was something off about it for me..just a minor gripe though cause I really liked the character so far.

They couldn't have just made her a complete full villain? Try killing Supergirl and then actually killing her daughter(unintentionally of course, which would make her snap even more) on Christmas of all days. People say her daughter might end up with Alex somehow(Alex taking care of her like a mom after her mom dies), but I'd rather they just have her die which sends Reign into an even darker place.


Also, how do people not know Kara is Supergirl? She literally invited the head of the DEO to her Christmas party. A party attended by Samantha(Reign) and Lena! Wouldn't they want to know why/how he knows her? Not to mention he tells her that they have to go(DEO business), right infront of both of them! Lena knows Kara dated Mon-El(an alien who also worked with Supergirl) AND now basically knows the head of the DEO knows her. Yet doesn't know her secret....

Well her sister does work at the DEO and while she has never been given an exact title I'd say she is pretty high up. But ya, I get what you are saying.

Also I agree that it was a great mid season final and I love the Reign character. A very good villain in a show that has never had one before. That fight was great. I was on the edge of my seat watching it know that Supergirl was actually getting hurt pretty bad.

I like that the big bads for Supergirl and Flash this year are fully realized characters. Other villains have been good because of their costume and powers and great performances by the actors, but non of them have had any depth.

Understandably, it was obvious that they weren't going to give Reign anything resembling her comic outfit, but I agree that her costume is sub par.

And some sad news regarding Supergirl. It returns January 15th and I believe it airs 4 episodes from that moment until February 5th. Then it goes on 2 MONTH BREAK before resuming in April and airing all the way until June.

All this mainly because of Black Lightning which takes over Legends spot on Tuesday, so Legends takes over Supergirls spot and Supergirl gets nothing. Just a horrible way to end things in the 2nd half of these seasons. Hopefully next season they just devote 2 days to all the shows. Supergirl and Arrow on Monday, Legends and Flash Tuesday. Then Black Lightning since it's not part of that universe(for now) goes some other day.

Agree, and I'll go one step further by saying I think it was the best overall episode of the series. The Supergirl-Reign fight was A+.

Too bad about the extended break.

Only hope of shortened break is if one of the non DC shows gets cancelled, then at least there'd be freed up timeslot

Don't know if it's actual news or just speculation, but I heard that apparently a reason for the big sudden break is that they have to re-do the final part of the season since their writer/producer got fired. They can still use the footage they shot, but any future footage to be shot that he was incharge of, has to be re-done and re-written.

If this is true, then I wonder just how drastic of a change this could end up being for the show. Maybe those 4 episodes just happen to be the 4 he was on for, and the remainder of the season was to be filmed after he got fired, because I know the crossovers were filmed around September, so don't think most of season would've been done filming in November when all the allegations happened.

Like I said before, hopefully him being fired could actually improve the shows, this one especially with its female heavy cast. You never know what people dealt with behind the cameras or how uneasy it might have been for them to even come in to work each day.

Guess if the speculation on the delay is true, we'll find out how diff things end up in a few months.

Ignoring my frustration with the way they're handling the schedule/such a long break after just 4 episodes, I'll be tuning in tonight. I haven't enjoyed this season as much as its predecessors, though.

Watching tonight's episode. So far, meh. If this episode doesn't really hook me, I might just wait for the rest of the season tie it's on Netflix.

Episode wasn't as good, but the Kara stuff was good still, which is the issue with the show. Either make her the entire show, or strengthen the other characters. Reign is good too with the whole backstory on her character, but they haven't given people reasons to be invested in most other characters.

Also, they gotta bring in a SuperDog to the show.

I'm split on the scene with the key,

where as soon as Kara realizes her human side is important, she gets the key and is able to leave her "mind prison."

On the one hand, it was a little on the nose and I wish it was more subtle, but it was a little "deeper' than the CW shows are most of the time.
