Re: 2015-2016 TV Season
EDIT: Well I'm very happy to say I might be wrong (it happens). Fox ordered a full season and the new reports say the ratings have been adequate. Knock on wood.Last edited by JayBee74; 11-03-2015, 04:30 PM.Comment

Good find, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.Comment

Ya, I'm sure stuff will start being announced soon. With it being just around a month until the midseason break, we'll prob see announcements that certain shows won't be back after the break.
Apparently the reason for no cancellations yet is cause of DVR and other things. How those stuff don't count towards the overnight ratings, so shows might be getting cancelled, simply cause of bad live ratings, but they still have good followings through other methods, which aren't as easy to count.Comment

Minority Report is done, had its order cut
The Player is done, had its order cut
there are 1-2 others also, but don't watch those so don't care

Basically they don't want to announce a show is cancelled when they still have episodes produced already. That gives another channel/provider a chance to buy it and not have to produce stuff. They also don't have stuff to put in their place as the schedule is year round now and they don't have a lot in the wings.
So things are being cancelled, they just aren't calling it that now.Comment

I actually enjoy Truth Be Told. It's trite and shallow but also easy to watch and Vanessa Minnillo is hot.
Out of all the new shows, the best---by far---is Benders on IFC.Comment

There's gotta be a better way to determine what survives and what doesn't than "ratings."Comment

Re: 2015-2016 TV Season
Social media is something else some shows care about too. Trying to get people talking about the show online, and get it trending. I think some shows see it as a success if their show trends online, cause that shows people are watching it,more than outdated nielsen ratings based off of less than 1% of viewers, determining the ratings.
I mean, there's over 110m households in usa who got tv. Of that 110+m, not even 100,000 count towards ratings. So all of tv is determined by less than 0.1% of households with tv! And who knows how many nielsen viewers even watch tv live anymore either.
So networks need to figure out better way to see who's watching. With everything being digital, im surprised nobody figured out a better way yet.Last edited by Majingir; 11-08-2015, 11:58 AM.Comment
