I hate the new format of the TV By The numbers website.

Anyone else watch Legends with Sean Bean? Season 2 already started in the USA, it kicks off here in Canada on Wednesday. Can't wait!

With DVRs and boxes connected to the internet, they know what you are watching. You can opt out usually. The cable/satellite companies have the data, not sure why another company hasn't gotten that data and made better ratings. It wouldn't cover everyone as people don't have cable, but you could take data from Netflix and hulu also.

This is one of the founders of TV by the numbers who sold it to whatever media conglomerate, and is basically the new cancellation bear now that his contract with TVbtN is done (last season was his last).

Thanks for the link, didn't know it was different now. tvbtn though seems to be playing by networks wishes and not calling the series that had the episodes cut as cancelled. That way the networks can claim its not cancelled and people don't find out its been cancelled and stop watching.

He has those 4 shows as cancelled already like they really are.

I like the way they've retooled the storytelling style in Season 2. Even though it's still on TNT it has a different vibe now than most of their shows.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

                  Re: 2015-2016 TV Season

Fox is first one to step up in doing things differently in terms of ratings.
                  http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/201...umbers-is-not/

No longer announcing live ratings anymore, it'll be delayed ratings(taking into consideration DVR ratings the following 3-7 days). It's still not perfect, but at least it'll reflect shows more accurately than live ratings. Something I wouldn't be surprised to see other shows do eventually also.

A show like Gotham for example, live numbers has their show around 4.1-4.3M LIVE viewers. With FOX no longer announcing the live numbers, the only numbers we'll see for a show like that are the DVR numbers, which are around 6.7M viewers.

Going to be interesting with Live numbers not being released as ad buyers will probably want to pay less unless they force providers to show ads or stop you from fast forwarding.

Yeah looking forward to Superstore, it's from the same producer as The Office too. Hopefully it's better than 10 Items or Less

The day that they make DVRs unable to fastforward through commercials, will be a sad day. On demand content, they do that already, though all ads on the on demand content are just ads for tv shows on the network that the show airs on.

Depends on what channel you are watching and when you are watching it. Like if you watch Fox, I think it is, you get all the commercials from that episode. I know it's some channel but don't remember exactly which one it is.

A sadder day is when you have to pay $2.99 for one episode of The Blacklist. If they can't figure out a way for commercials to be digested by the consumer that day is coming.....the day of PPV TV.

There has to be a revenue source for the network and the advertisers have to get their money's worth, so I'm surprised the " DVR forced commercial tech" hasn't been developed or implemented yet.

The tech is already there, just not implemented because the providers don't want to piss off all their customers. They can already inject local commercials or even commercials based on when you are watching from the DVR.

DTV does a 24-72 hour window where you can stream most channels, but have to watch it as if you were watching it live, so no fast forwarding. Normal on-demand depends on the channel, but some you can fast forward..
