did you click the windows logo in the bottom right task bar to update? I think you are only scheduling the update.. If you go directly to the site you can download and install it manually, instead of waiting..PSN: duFFleBaG_rAn_

Windows defender looks like the same sort of program, and comes with win10 but I cant speak on if it is the same functionality of Security Essentials.Comment

it runs all the time unless you install another antivirus program and then it will turn itself off
I think I saw something about it catching like 95% or so of viruses, which is ok but not great. If you install MalwareBytes Anti-Exploit, that will stop the zero-day stuff from the web, which your antivirus may not catch. With both of those running, you are probably good unless you are doing things that would expose you to more viruses.Comment

If Norton slows you down, then you simply got a very weak laptop. It shouldn't slow you down what so ever.Comment
