Elliot's "girlfriend" has met the female associate of Mr. Robot's at Elliot's apartment, so I tend to think he and his hacker group (and the arcade) are real...

Interesting though, that at the bar, they made Elliot playing for his "appletini" kind of a notable point, whereas they either didn't show Mr. Robot paying for his or both drinks cost $12.00, which is unlikely in NYC...

Yeah, I got my 86 year old mom hooked on this thing and the "mission oriented" scene, as well as the one at the end with the executive and his female significant other are likely to be a bit over the top for her...

Yeah sounds like any cocktail would be around $12-$14 in NYC, so he was probably paying for his own.

Mission oriented or not, it could have been inferred. And not just 86 yo mothers and grandmothers, but it's more difficult than ever to censor TV scenes from youngsters and I'm sure the word will spread. It's not like the USA channel is HBO, but it just tried to reach the Cinemax bar.

P.S. He paid for his own drink.

I can understand your concerns but I had no problem with it. I want a show like this to be as raw as possible. I think a lot of people might have frowned on the gay sex in one of the scenes.

Interesting take on the episode, and also points to the bar sequence as a possible clue that Mr. Robot may be a figment of Elliot's imagination after all:

Yeah, until we see Mr Robot interact with one of Elliot's friends or associates, you might have to assume he's not real. Still, the better curve is him being real.

Longshot: Mr Robot is real and Elliot is fake.

                    Re: Mr Robot

Definitely my least favorite of the 3 episodes, but it was still good. I'm leaning toward Mr. Robot being real myself. The whole thing with Tyrell is interesting. The end was a little confusing though. Why wouldn't she ask Elliot for help?

                      Re: Mr Robot

What do you guys think about the scene where Mr. Robot is waiting for Elliot in his office? If he were real I don't know how he would have been given clearance to access both the building and the office. None of the co workers were looking in Elliot's direction when he was talking to robot in the office as well.

Also the look that the bartender gave Elliot after he asked what he was having and Elliot responded "nothing" ....
He looked at him like order something or get out....
If robot were real it would be ok for elliot sit there and not order anything because robot was already drinking

These are some subtle clues that lead me to believe that so far robot is not real

She was shell shocked having just found out about her and her parents vulnerable position. I'd be surprised if she doesn't go to him next episode.

What about the boyfriend? A likable guy, but at times pathetic.

Yeah, I think she will go to him. I just for some reason figured he would be the first person she would want to contact about it, and right away. But You're right, she prob will next episode.

As far as the BF, he's a douche imo.

Tyrell gave out a very American Psycho performance in the beginning. Really solid scene.

Rami Malek has been stellar. If he keeps it up, he's winning awards.
