Re: Fear The Walking Dead (Season 1)

Wasn't really expecting much from the premiere, figured it would take awhile to develop the story from "everything is normal" beginning to being overrun by walkers. Went about as expected, not bad, probably a slow transition to chaos, but definitely looking forward to watching how this plays out.

I liked it. I can see how people said it was meh though. If I wasn't already really into The Walking Dead, and the premise behind this series, I don't think I'd be hooked yet. But I'm happy so far.

Started slow, but I expected it to, being a pilot.

I loved it and thought it was a great start. I actually wish they would've taken more time to get to the outbreak.

I thought it was some really well. Brought the shock factor for the characters. I have no issues with it at all. But for a personal issue will be that we know more about the ZA than these characters do.

Yeah he totally seemed like a different character all together. Even his voice seemed different when you knew he was a drug dealer from when you first met him.

Re: Fear The Walking Dead (Season 1)

I liked it. Granted it was a little slow at some parts, and I didn't really like the daughter storyline with the boyfriend, unless there some significance later on, but Wife and I liked it.

I'll admit that I was at the edge of my seats when the stepdad visited the church the first time. I was expecting that girl to come out of nowhere, but she never did.

Few things I got out of the premiere:

                  1. Nick looks like a young Johnny Depp. The entire time I was trying to figure out what movie he was from, then when he wore the old man's outfit, he looked just like Johnny Depp.

                  2. I can't help but think that once Colette is done trying to get her junkie son into rehab, she's going to go to the whorehouse.

                  3. When Calvin drove Nick LA river, I instantly thought, "hey I've driven through that in GTA! But there is definitely way too much water there."

Nick was the kid that played the young Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince other than that he hasn't done anything else noteworthy.

He is consistently going to get people killed or almost killed thought the show.

I will face palm consistently when he continuously blows up perfect plans by doing dumb things. He's going to be a lot of peoples problem on this show.

Fear The Walking Dead (Season 1)

I think he's actually going to be one of the stronger characters as the ish begins to hit the fan more and more.

Almost in a Daryl way, like they weren't suited to normal life, but something about the zombies brings out the inner animal.

Of course, I'm sure he and all the other characters are going to make questionable decisions in typical horror movie fashion. I actually thought the beginning sequence of him going through the church and picking up a weapon once it got creepy was pretty smart and not the usual horror movie mentality. And he jetted when Gloria was clearly a zombie... didn't stumble or stutter, just dipped out hard. In to a car, but I insist that the driver was texting & driving! Kid was standing still for a couple seconds.

I think that's my major gripe with the writing for both shows.
The most interesting characters get killed off way too quickly or aren't explored enough.
Meanwhile, the most boring, cliche'd characters continue to survive.

The worst thing TWD could have done was kill off Merl. He was easily the most interesting and entertaining character that program ever had.

There were times I was begging for Merl and Darryl to kill everyone in the group and then have the show follow them as they pillaged across the landscape.
