True, however while not in the same theme, 'The Night Of' is actually pretty good and going to be picking up steam next week with Episode 3 from the looks of it.

Game of Thrones: Season 6

I'm rewatching season one. Nothing beats Eddard scenes with his family before the **** hit the fan. His scenes with Arya are near heartbreaking in retrospect. Also damn was Sansa a dummy.

How things would be different if little finger wasn't such a bitch. He's still my vote for corniest character on the show.

The split season screams "money making scheme" to me. Now instead of 1 dvd season they can market 2....oh well.

If they are spending a 10 episode budget into 7 episodes, I'm all for it. Plus all of it has to be done in the winter unless they are finishing all 13 this year which i doubt.

I think they will get a "smaller" budget, but one that allows them to finish the show the right way as opposed to the early seasons where they were limited because HBO was being careful.

I as a viewer, would rather have one longer final season.

The split is just too dragged out to get to the finale. And while there will be hype for the final season, the fact it will be so short will kill the vibe a little, versus a 13 episode one.

But if it allows for the budget production we seen in the final 2 episodes, then it is probably better for us and the show.

This also allows HBO to market more shows so they can get that Thrones audience into another show. All of these are related, HBO has to get those promos in and try to get you into another show. 2 seasons means they can have twice the opportunities to build a Game of Thrones level replacement.

I just don't understand why they're so hell-bent on JUST 73-75 episodes total. I felt a few episodes this season could've been fleshed out more. I sincerely hope they're not limiting themselves to that number for the sake of reaching the finish line, but because that's really all the story they can think of without George's book(s) to guide them.

Best case scenario is Winds of Winter comes out and they're still able to adapt certain storylines into the show universe and we get more episodes (without dragging).
