Re: Cable/Satellite To Expensive. Alternative?
That is 1000 percent the truth, once my cable contract is up I'm going Netflix/Hulu, seriously why are we paying 5 bucks for local broadcast fees and 3 dollars regional sports fees isnt the money for a cable package enoughComment

Re: Cable/Satellite To Expensive. Alternative?
So i found out I wasn't under contract with Comcast so i dropped the cable in favor of Netflix/Hulu/Funimation/Crunchyroll between that and the Internet we are only spending 90 bucks half of what our bill was
I would suggest anyone who has Comcast and has thought of dropping any service your better off going to a local Comcast office if you have one in your townComment

Re: Cable/Satellite To Expensive. Alternative?
Now that Comcast has increased the data usage cap from 300GB to 1TB (welcome, but I still think there should be NO cap) it makes getting rid of cable a more enticing solution. I'm going to give the SlingTV trial a go and see how that works out before I make a final decision.PS: You guys are great.

Re: Cable/Satellite To Expensive. Alternative?
So my Comcast bill was about $210 a month, this includes cable with HBO and high speed wireless. I couldn't take it anymore a couple of months ago so I called them and told them to turn it off. The first guy I talked to sent me to a "manager" and he offered me a deal I couldn't refuse. It is the new XFinity One system (which I love) the premium package of cable with HBO, high speed wireless, and a home phone with unlimited calls for $150 a month.
I just received my first bill yesterday for this new package and it was indeed $149.99.
I couldn't be happier! Love the Xfinity one system and I now have a home phone.
All I did was tell them that I was switching to Directv (which I cant by the way lol) and told them I was done with them. And like I said they offered me new package that is set for 2 years.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: Cable/Satellite Too Expensive. Alternative?
I am a cable subscriber for life. I think $200 is a fair price for what I get. I am a Comcast subscriber.

I haven't had cable for over 18 months now, and haven't missed it. I use a Slingbox and Steam Link and it's been great...and $0 per month.@MikeLowe47 | YouTube | Discord

Re: Cable/Satellite Too Expensive. Alternative?
The RSN's you get are hit or miss. I should have Comcast Chicago and FSN KC, Midwest, North, and Wisconsin. I get Comcast and FSN North only, so I only get Twins, Cubs, and White Sox games. For some reason, MLB.tv doesn't black me out on Royals games and I don't care about missing the Cards and Brewers, but definitely do a free trial to make sure you get ROOT up there for the M's. There is no guarantee you will get your RSN.Comment

Re: Cable/Satellite Too Expensive. Alternative?
Fox Sports Go works with Vue now so I get all my FSN affiliates, plus FSN Detroit for some reason.
I've used 400-500 GB a month each month with it, but I also have Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Now, and MLB.tv. I probably have something streaming 6+ hours a day and more on weekends. I have a 1 TB cap so I've never really cared about managing it.Comment
