I have no idea what is going to happen in the last episode next week.
By the way I noticed next week's episode is an hour and 45 minutes.
There are so many ways this could go, again loved last nights episode!
I really liked it too. I think what they are going for is that whether he did it or not, so many people's lives have changedb because of this whole thing. What the jury decides ultimately isn't going to change that.

I actually think Nas is fine with the Jury's decision either way.

I get the feeling he is starting to prefer to stay in jail. His Mom won't even talk to him.

          Re: The Night Of (HBO)

Last night was more of a return to form for the series after the last two episodes went really off the rails.

I don't however understand the kiss between Naz and his attorney. It was strange and that being caught on camera will come back and bite her badly.

He obviously has a real dark side. The body language in court has been bizarre. I really don't know anymore what will happen. But they sure went for the open and closed case since they had him custody and had an apparent murder weapon in hand (and now we find out a knife is missing from the set of 4). I loved how the defense witness just basically said the state's pathologist is a hack. He tore him to shreds. He certainly created some doubt. And removing evidence from the scene of the crime....huge blunder. Also...not a drop of blood on it. Odd? Of course it is. Also the amount of blood at that murder scene....why wasn't Naz covered in blood or had any of her blood all over him.

          Makes no sense.

Plus the great testimony of how you could not even see the kitchen from the staircase, suggests the killer did not even know that Naz was in the house at the time the killer committed the murder. He simply could have came in through that door that was not secured, went up the stairs, killed her then walked out the same way without ever seeing Naz passed out at the kitchen table.

I think they get him off and I still believe the Stepfather either hired someone to kill her, or did it himself for the house and the money. No question a strong motive is there. I am glad the finale is 1:45 so we can really sink into the court case.

Naz's mom thinks he is totally guilty now. And his dad's partners absolutely railroaded him for his taxi token. That thing is worth 10 times more than 75K....total snow job. I would not have sold it...no freaking way. **** those crooks.

That was a very good episode. Now I am excited for the end. The scene with his lawyer showed the date of 2/3/15 so it's been almost 4 months since everything has taken place.

                Re: The Night Of (HBO)

In looking back at naz and his decision making and back story as we know it, I don't think he acted much different than a lot of people would have EXCEPT for a couple critical points:

                High school fight(s): check
Sell contraband to friends in high school: check
Sneak out and take car: check
If hot girl asks for a ride: check
Take Unknown drugs: not me but if it was pound a fifth of whiskey: check
Go back to her high priced pad for play time: check
Stagger downstairs and inexplicably wake up hours later check:
                Freak out and run: check
Would I have grabbed the knife: maybe
Would the stuff in the original booking precinct house gone down like it did: maybe
Would I have turned to Freddy if I knew I was dead otherwise: check
Would I have smuggled the balloons: probably if I knew I was dead otherwise
Would I have smoked the drugs: HELL NO
Would I have tatted my knuckles: HEll NO
Would I have not told the lawyers everything: maybe
Would I try to hit on lawyer: after being around dudes all the time - yes

So he's made a series of bad decisions but outside of the tats and the drugs it's probably pretty common.

                No one is completely pure.

I think he gets off but he's not going to leave prison probably ever. And that might be the moral of this story. Most people are pretty decent but grilled about your past you will look shady and put in the wrong position and getting stuck in prison is easier than you think

The more I think about it, the more I think he gets convicted, regardless of whether or not he did it.

I'm not entirely sure that HBO is trying to pitch us a murder mystery, but rather a social commentary dressed as a murder mystery. I wouldn't be surprised if there's no satisfying resolution to the case/show by the end of the finale.

Precisely how I started to feel the third episode in forward. Especially the 'social commentary' part in todays political climate.

                      Totally agree.
I think it's similar to True Detective Season 1 where it wasn't so much about the crime as it was about the personalities and their lives.

But I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be disappointed if the mystery behind the crime wasn't revealed or had a big 'AH HA!' moment behind it.

Well put that's kind of what I've been saying as well its not so much a murder mystery but more of a cautionary tale that touches on social issues. I don't think he gets convicted of murder though but he might as well because he's ending up staying in prison either way.

What's everyone's predictions for tonight? I think he gets not guilty and then has a flash back to end the show that shows he did it. He gives a smile and fade to black.

I have no idea, just hope it's more final then cloudy and/or preachy.
