I have no idea who did it but it's an interesting theory that the cat may have answers, particularly since it is now Stone's housemate.

Freddy's motivations seem to be showing themselves.

When Naz pummeled his attacker, did you notice one of Freddy's thugs saying, "Don't kill him too"? A little reach here, but could that imply Freddy also thinks Naz did it?

Yeah... kinda opens up a bit about that dude's friend (who ran)... but I am still not fully convinced about Nas being so innocent either. There is a dark side in there.

They really do some strange focusing on the brother in some of those scenes. I don't see how he could have been there and done anything, but I think him and Naz might have some dark secrets and those might come out with computers and other stuff that was taken.

Freddy knows Naz has a dark side. He's going to push it until he finds out how far he'll go.

I wouldn't be totally shocked if Duane Reed did it, but it's too obvious. When they showed him looking back and staring and then when she let the cat out and the door the didn't lock in the first episode, I was thinking it oh no that dude is going to do something, but then I figured that's too obvious.

I have a feeling that Naz is going to be found innocent of the murder, but he's going to end up staying in prison for something else.

I think he is going to end up getting out of prison and then dying for something that Freddy makes him do once he gets out.

Why did Naz say he swallowed four and we only saw him swallow three?

Ok I thought i was crazy, I knew he only swallowed 3. Naz might have a psychological problem.

Which would give some momentum to the Naz did it camp. I keep going back to the trial when he was supposed to do the plea bargain and started to have a flashback of going up the stairs. The obvious thought is that he'll remember more of that sequence by the end of the series and it'll either be of him seeing someone kill her or he'll kill her. I'm leaning towards the latter.

I'm with fistofrage, the focus on the brother in some scenes makes me believe there's something there.

And the foreshadowing is so clear with Stone asking him, "is there anything else you didn't tell us?"

There's something else. The Adderall is just the start.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Pretty sure he is turning (or was already) bad.
Prison is quickly turning him evil. He is going to try to sell one of them or take it himself.

I'm starting to think he was already bad. Prison is just fleshing it out of him. That stunt he pulled in tv room was insane.

Kind of hard to get around and almost laughable how quickly Naz turned, it happened in one episode, but no telling how much time has elapsed on the show. Seems weird, but with such few episodes, got to kind of speed things along. So I get the quick transformation for us.

There has to be a reason why he said four -

Either they just forgot to show us that he swallowed 4
Or he is lying for a reason

He even made eye contact with the guy to make sure he agreed there were four bags. Then he started drinking more castor oil to get it out.

As a great OS poster once said - I dunno too much!

It looks like it has been a month. When Box was looking at the cameras on the street I believe the date said 11/24/14.

                            Re: The Night Of (HBO)

Naz has always been a geek and pushed around. We see that in one of the first scenes when the basketball player he's tutoring treats him like dirt.

I think he loved having the power to beat someone without having to worry about repercussions.
He's now flaunting and testing his power as Freddy's boy.

I'm also glad someone pointed out that he only swallowed 3 balloons.
                            Maybe he really is delusional?
Maybe he's stolen the car before and can't remember parts of it?

I've never taken it, but did they say that Adderall helps keep people jacked-up?
I would think that'd be fairly common among college students. Especially one like Naz, who comes from a family that clearly pushes education and hard work.

This last episode certainly opened up a whole can of worms.
Naz no longer looks like Bambi caught in headlights.

I'm starting to wonder if we may see something similar to Ed Norton in Primal Fear unfold.

I'm also with fistorage in that my money's on Naz being found not-guilty but either turning to crime due to his foray in prison, or having to accomplish a task for Freddy which lands him back in the slammer.

P.S. I believe it was Mike Tyson that once said, prison will reveal your true self.
He said nobody will ever abuse you in prison if you stand-up for yourself and stay true.
If you get 'turned', then that was your personality all along.

Yes, Adderall as very similar effects as cocaine.

Adderall is also an amphetamine. Basically meth super light, lol.

As far as Naz, man, I had a theory he possibly had psychotic episodes when starting this thread. I am not 100% all in on it just yet, but the card is on the table.

Don't t me wrong I still love this show, but last night's episode was the worst one by far.
This show kept me on the edge of my seat the first 5 episodes but last night it was just boring.
Starting to really think he thinks he is going away for life.
The whole tattoo thing makes me think he is trying to look "harder" for prison once he gets there.
Who the hell "tattoo ups" and shaves their head when they are getting ready to so on trial?
