    Yes for sure.
If you remember she let the cat out when they first got to the house.
She also didn't shut the door once she let the cat out. They are hinting that someone could have came in that door to kill her.
Also the lawyer has already figured it out. He looked at the cat waiting to come in, let the cat in and the cat went right to his food. He then knew that cat lived there because it knew where the cat dish was.
Although he never said it, you could tell he was thinking that she could have let the cat in or out and not locked the door. He was going to pursue this angle.

Yes! All the things I rambled to myself while watching.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

Also, the moment when the detective was interviewing the step dad, at the end when he said "do you have a place to go for now?" and the step dad said "i dont live there" that moment struck me as important for some reason. I dont know if it was the detectives reaction, or, the question itself.

Don't trust the new lawyer. Also, interesting to see how the rest of Naz's Rikers Island stint goes.

He brought him the inhaler because accepting it placed him in the house.

Had naz declined it then it would be "who does this inhaler belong to?"

But now accepting it puts him in the room and around/on the bed.

The last ep kept hinting naz was going to take a beating and he just ends up with his bed on fire. The preview made it look like mkw punches naz in the face next ep.

Good show but the lack of blood on him should have been much more of a big deal. They could tell if he took a shower, if the answer is no, with all the blood in the room it is clear he didnt do it.

Another wtf is why didn't he take the subway?

And he doesn't own a decent cell phone? Google maps will lead you right to your address. Family had a laptop or two, I would be shocked if naz didnt have a cell phone with nav on it.

I think the point is, the world is too big for Naz. Him and his brother are like young teenagers but Naz is in his 20'sleep, he's not a kid he a grown man but he might as well be a 14 year old mentally.

If they have him with his GPS, and squared away acting like he knows what he's doing, it would be hard to believe he would randomly use drugs, etc as it would seem like that would be more typical behavior as opposed to this odd once in a lifetime encounter that turned into a nightmere

                Re: The Night Of (HBO)

I'm wondering if Box was looking for a specific reaction to Naz accepting the inhaler?
Not sure if the reaction he got helped or hurt Box's gut feeling.
Eg, perhaps he was hoping to see Naz look guilty, like he suddenly remembered he didn't clean it up at the scene?
It had zero blood on it, yet was laying by a mutilated body. Why would Naz clean it off, then leave it near the crime scene? Especially an item that he physically needed.

Right now, my gut tells me that Box is a good, honest cop. I'm not sure I believe he knows who did it. Only that his gut tells him Naz isn't the killer.
IMO, he's going to work hard to prove to himself whether Naz was truly capable of such a horrific crime (hence looking at old baby photo's of Naz).

*Also, I'm wondering when Box is going to find out there were two guys harassing Naz as he was entering the house.
Will Naz be the one who reveals that to Box?
What if Tuturro hadn't come along to rep him and tell him to keep quiet. Would Naz have revealed that to Box right-away? Would that have gotten Box off his tail earlier and swung the investigation in a different direction?
Or, perhaps this info is never revealed to anyone and could the lynchpin to Naz being judged guilty.

Nope, politics/fame is my best guess.

I am also thinking the two guys that harassed Naz, are connected to that boxer somehow.

Another great episode. Makes me want to watch the BBC series it is based on (Criminal Justice) but Netflix no longer has it.

Two Soprano cast members appeared together-Turturro's real life cousin, Aida Turturro (Janice Soprano) and the guy who played "Benny". Earlier in the thread I erred in posting that Aida was John Turturro's real life sister.

The future for the guy that threw the hot water/baby oil cocktail doesn't look bright.

EDIT: Just read where there is a chance The Night Of might be going for a season 2 "on another subject" so we get the closure we want this season and the possibility of a great anthology series.

Watched the first episode last night and I was hooked. If it was 12:45, I would have watched another. I hope to be caught up before the new episode on Sunday.

Yeah, Baby Oil didn't look so cocky after he saw Naz visit Frankie after the incident.
I'm looking forward to seeing what happens to him.

                            I certainly hope so!
But I hope they don't rush it like they did True Detective S2.

P.S. The book "The Other Side of Midnight" is a great one. Read it years ago. One of my favourite novels of all time.

I just found out that Hulu has the two seasons of Criminal Justice. The five episode first season is the one The Night Of is based on. I ran into a What Criminal Justice Tells Us About The Night Of and Naz headline on the website Vulture. With the season finale slated for August 28th I might take a look at it.

Unless I missed something, we haven't heard from Bodie's friend, have we? He was looking awfully hard at Naz and ol' girl the night of. When Bodie was questioned, he said he was the only one there.
