This is one hero that I just don't know much about. I guess I just never followed her that closely. I know that she is the one who Rogue got her strength from but that's about all I know.

Brie Larson is a stud actress, I am sure she will do a great job.

Due to her long history in Marvel Comics, Carol Danvers has been highly regarded. She has been labeled "Marvel's biggest female hero," a "feminist icon," as "quite possibly Marvel's mightiest Avenger," and was ranked #11 on IGN's "Top 50 Avengers".

From a physical standpoint, the only other actress I can think of who looks (almost) looks exactly like the comic book Carol Danvers is Katee Sackhoff.

This is one Marvel movie I see as flopping unless she gets a lot of support characters. Wonder Woman is iconic. Ms. Marvel is not.

I think how Wonder Woman does will be a prelude to how well this film does. Granted, Marvel always has a bit more humor (and I like Marvel more than DC), but the target audience should be the same.

I'm willing to bet it doesn't do better than Ant-Man financially, unless she gets a head start in one of the upcoming movies (Avengers/GOTG).

Brie Larson is a serious beast as far as being a talented actress. I have to have faith that she will be great. That alone won't make a 600+ million dollar revenue but I think they can pull it off with a good script and supporting cast. If people had an issue with Gal Gadot's body type, lol, look out here. Unless she is doing one of those celebrity bulk up programs before filming starts?

Quick update.

The movie takes place in the 90s, Nick Fury is gonna have both eyes, and she's going to be fighting the Skrulls (which could set up Avengers 4 for some sort of Secret Invasion storyline, which could be VERY interesting if they choose that path).

Jude Law recently was cast as the male lead, which is the alien Mar-Vell (or Captain Marvel before Carol Danvers took over).

Apparently, that's a Kree uniform, hence the green. I'm assuming that she'll get the blue and red suit at some point in the movie.
