Re: Cord cutting
For me im fine with yttv and shared prime mostly for orders. The only thing i would want is more streams for all my tvs. Debating on payin the xtra 20 for 4k and unlimited streams. So currently im averaging around 75 month for livetv and prime video. Going with a similar cable plan its would be 70 + cable rental box fees for each tv + more taxes.Last edited by DaImmaculateONe; 07-22-2021, 07:43 AM.Kenny: Ok Vic, I'm ready for some girl on girl action.
Vic: No Kenny, that's girl versus girl.
Kenny: What's the difference?
Vic: Well, in one, one girl wins. In the other....
Kenny: Everyone wins?!?!

Re: Cord cutting
Trying Paramount for a week to check out a Quite Place 2. I don't think i'll stick with it since it doesn't have a lot of shows I watch, its mostly network shows and the only ones I liked are the Good Wife and maybe the Good Fight.
Is Picard worth watching?Last edited by RockinDaMike; 07-22-2021, 09:24 AM.Comment

Re: Cord cutting
It was just OK. These networks have some stones charging 5 bucks for what amounts for stuff that should be free on network television. Good Fight Dr. Death the short list goes on.Comment

Re: Cord cutting
I don't mind the 5 bucks. True its on tv for free but its on a schedule. Here you have the convenience of watching all the seasons in 1 location.Comment

Re: Cord cutting
I guess because of the dispute with Roku, Google sent me a free Chromecast with Google TV.
Going to try it out and see how it compares to my Roku. Assuming I like it, I’ll only need to buy one Chromecast now if Roku completely removes YTTV.Comment

Re: Cord cutting
There are some good shows to watch that are originals but there aren't enough to pay for it outright. I do have it though but it is split with family.Comment

Re: Cord cutting
What's the general price for live streaming TB services now? The last time I had live TV it was through Hulu for like 30 or 40 bucks two years ago to watch NBA.
Fast forward to now and the wife wanting to watch Olympics and Hulu's package with TV is $71.

Re: Cord cutting
Damn. Prices really jumped the last couple of years unless I'm misremembering what I paid previously.

Re: Cord cutting
The market is so saturated with streaming live TV services that the prices were never going to stay that low. Hypothetically if either YouTube TV or Sling had the exclusive rights to stream all those channels from the jump, and they had like 150M+ subscribers, I'm sure the price would be lower. Too late for that. They are all just trying to hold on to their small piece of the pie.Comment

Re: Cord cutting
I will say for sports especially, the most annoying thing about streaming on YTTV or watching through an app is the delay. I think if you watch a game on local antenna and YTTV at the same time, the antenna has got to be at least 20 seconds ahead if not more. I recognize the differences in technology is why, I'm just stating my grievances. I think the lag has gotta be illegal stream > YTTV stream > DTV > Cable > Antenna.
I used to spend a lot more time **** posting on Twitter while watching games than actually soaking up the experience of watching. Knowing some random Auburn beat writer is in the stadium about to live tweet what happened makes me put the phone down a lot more and just enjoy the game.. been really nice.
I notice a lot more details about the game this way than if I was looking to my phone to see what everyone is saying immediately after a play.
It's just good for my brain.Comment
