I notice a lot more details about the game this way than if I was looking to my phone to see what everyone is saying immediately after a play.

It's just good for my brain.
For me I could say that goes beyond just sports as far as putting the phone down. I am so addicted, yeah I said it, addicted to being on my phone during sports, movies, shows, etc. I really really know when a movie is good when I don't look at my phone for most of it. It's ridiculous to me and I wish I could stop.

So my IP raised my rate by $4 a month. When I looked on their website, the advertised "regular" rate is still what I was paying before. When I called and asked why I'm being charged $4 more than the regular rate, they gave me $5 off for the next six months, but never answered my question.

Ugh. I thought I was done with this game of getting my bill lowered every few months.

I'm surprised they didn't give you the "that's only for new customers" spiel.

Contacting ISPs is such an annoying and stressful thing. Last year for me was so chaotic.

I was trying to get a new deal all summer since mine was up soon, but they kept saying nothing was available due to covid (because any upgrade wasn't allowed since techs couldn't enter houses..although new customers could get deals just fine without techs entering their house).

Eventually time passed and randomly an offer popped up on my account for a upgrade deal. I took it and suddenly they were like "oh yeah, you can upgrade, techs dont need to enter your house to do it".

A few months later I called and was like "Yeah...I dont like this anymore, and with covid, I'm cutting my costs", and suddenly they offered me a major discount.

Sadly the discount expires in a few months from now as it's been almost a year since that last call, and I doubt I'm getting a deal as good as that one, but it's so annoying how this happens. If I could be locked in at the price I'm paying now, I'd have no problem with it.

As bad as you guys think you got it, Canada is much worse for it. Definitely one of the worst countries when it comes to ISP pricing (quality is great, price suck).

I had to call for a price adjustment because mine lowered the rate. I'm not in a contract and they tried to tell me it was for new sign-up only. I then read the fine print off to them. They fought trying to give them the current rate but you bet if the price was raised they wouldn't forget to adjust my price.

            Oh, they did.

I was paying $45 a month and they raised it to $49.

Their website says new customers pay $30 a month for the first year before it goes up to the "regular" rate of $45.

It's only $4, but it's the principle. Why am I asked to pay more than the regular rate? They've yet to answer that, even though they did give me a $5 discount for the next six months. I'm still going back-and-forth over email with them, so I'm hoping to get a more permanent resolution.

I know someone who had their plan expire, and their plan got jacked up way more than the standard rate.

Then, after calling and doing all that stuff, the person on the phone was basically like "Ok, the best we can give you is this discount", but it turns out the offer being made was a "discount". As in, after discounting various parts of your bill, you'll be charged the flat fee for new customers (which seems to be where you've gotten so far).

They laughed at the rep and basically hung up, and eventually got a real good deal. I used the deal they got as a reference point when I negotiated mine, and immediately they told me they won't be able to match that offer, but came back 5 minutes later and was like "Ok, so we can't match your offer, but if you take this specific package, we can give it to you for that price". That specific package ended up being an upgrade over what I had. So it was like "Ok...I guess I'll have to take it then"(while holding in a laughter).

Has anyone tried DirecTV stream? I swear AT&T comes out with a new streaming service every year lol. Wasn't there a DirectTV Now and an AT&T TV too?

At&t doesn't own them anymore. It is just rebranding the previous one. It's fine, I have some version of it, not sure which one. Just like every other streaming service. It's a backup for me and used when traveling but I don't have to pay for it.

I just tried it on Apple TV and it's awful, sticking with YTTV. The interface is so sluggish compared to YTTV.

Of course though you have to ****ing chat with somebody online on DirecTV to cancel it, they won't just let you ****ing cancel it outright. I can't believe companies still have that practice in 2021 but it's DirecTV so I shouldn't be surprised.

Jesus Christ, YouTube Tv could be losing NBCUniversal channels come Thursday.

Which they then would be dropping the cost by $10.

Well goodbye Sunday night football, its been real.

                        Got that email too.

Shouldn't they drop the price $15, since that's always how much they raise it when they add channels?

From what I’ve read, it sounds like it’s more on NBC than Google.

I’ll be surprised if they don’t reach an agreement by Sunday night.
