Re: Drones?
Seriously...though I would think there should be legal recourse if someone's flying a drone around your house...if someone was walking around your house that's creeping and illegal. What people don't understand is that it is a aircraft. If you shoot it down. It might kill someone because you caused it to malfunction.
But for the people who are really afraid of drones. They are developing a gun that will disable a drone mid flight and make it go into landing mode. So it doesn't go crashing to earth.
I found the video!

And guys I'm not saying it's right to stalker people. I just think they're more good apples then bad ones in the drone community. Like way more.
Here is something people should be afraid of

I agree with that camera vid though....I have a camera like that with 60x zoom and you could totally creep with it (or a DSLR).Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

I think the major problem with coming up with a law is, citizens don't own the airspace above their house. I don't have the exact laws but I believe it's something like 15ft max.Comment

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/sbW3ZeoMJio" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>Yeah I think the public is misinformed on the camera capabilities of hobby quads/drones. Pretty sure there are none or few cameras attached to drones that can actually zoom in.. that the public can get ahold of.
Firing a weapon in the air at a drone, hey *******, the bullet has to come down.
Also as far as the drone gun that sends a signal or whatever and makes it land. There's maybe a handful of drones that would actually be effected by that.. unless the drone has an autoland feature.. pretty sure it's just gonna fall out of the sky.
Killer view.
And this is probably illegal. But blocking communications is a huge FCC "no no" in USA.
Amazing man... That's probably the drone I should of started out with years ago.https://youtu.be/bTSVAjUz3T8

I guess here is the thing. A drone that is crashing into my back yard everyday (I'm talking hovering at 150 feet.) That could bother me. But anything else with the drone moving it's basically impossible to get a video or have a creep thing going on. Now if I had someone who wasn't taking safe first approach and had crashed a drone into my yard a few times. I'd be pissed.Seriously...though I would think there should be legal recourse if someone's flying a drone around your house...if someone was walking around your house that's creeping and illegal.

Re: Drones?
Yeah, i hear you guys...i care less about normal people and more about weird guys...like i wouldn't want to be in my pool and just have some neighbor hovering 20 feet above. Or the guy who keeps crashing it into houses and stuff.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Drones?
Nothing too crazy. Get scenic shots at some of the land and lakes I visit often. Fly around parks where it's legal. My fear is something cheap could fail over water and I'm out hundreds of bucks.Comment

Re: Drones?
I guess that was my fear too. That's a huge reason I spent the cash in the long run. My gf argue so much the first few days. But once she saw it fly and the videos I made. She really loved all the safety features for this drone. Restricting take off in no fly zones. Tells you what type of fly zone your in. The beginners mode was awesome. I'm afraid of any drone falling out of the sky. But the Mavic has changed my mind. Every cent that I put in. I'm getting back.
Here is a great video.

That video voices all the same concerns I had. I kind of wish I would of got the Husand a few years ago. But again. After fly the Mavic. You'll never want to fly anything lower.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Drones?
I'll recommend the Hubsan H501S again. Has GPS, return to home and follow mode. No gimbal so the camera is fixed but that's why it isn't 500+. I've gone as high as you can legally go (125 meters) no problem. As far as distance, once again legally I've gone as far as I could see it. Great buy.
Also it's pretty small. Definitely fit in your backpack. Props come off, arms don't fold. Has 4 LEDs for night flying. Flashes yellow when battery is low. Has a controller with LCD monitor and has telemetry.Last edited by HungryBologna; 03-01-2017, 01:23 PM.Comment

Re: Drones?
Shark Tank just had an episode where someone mentioned that drones are returned at a rate of 60%, a lot of times because they are damaged. The pitched product was DARTdrones, an instructional drone flying class for commercial and recreational users. Mark Cuban ended up investing $300,000 for a 10% stake.Comment

Re: Drones?
The drone that was annoying me was maybe 30 feet in the air just over the roof line hovering over my daughter and some other neighbor kids. Not cool.Maybe because I live in Brooklyn. But I never understood the thought process that someone 400 feet in the air is stalker someone. Come on people! Have you seen what people look like that high? I've seen a whole videos showing people what you see. I'll post it if I can find it. But all I've seen lately is people with this negative view told drones. Great example, I had a guy come up to me and say "That's an awesome machine. It's so stable. But if I saw that over my house. I'd shot it down." Is that what you say to someone? Like WTF? I had to explain to him why that was illegal smh.
But I crashed my Mavic yesterday. Rookie mistake on my part letting someone fly in a tight space. Never again. Thank god I had insurance.
I also understand the reason people get so scared of these kinds of things.
Edit I found the video I was talking about.

I like drones, they are sweet and have a lot of good purposes. Another guy in the neighborhood found his runaway dog using one. But you have to respect people's privacy.
400 feet not an issue, 30 feet overhead over private property, you got some explaining to do.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

I would have either followed it back to the owner or shot it down.Comment

Re: Drones?
Hah yeah the wind can definitely be a factor. I have a video of me trying to fly in some heavy wind and it's almost uncontrollable. Wind gust came through and elevated the drone about 15/20 from the air.
As far as flight time, I can get close to 20 minutes on 1 battery. Couple of factors.. flying with lights, flying into wind, if I use return to home or follow me.. I average 15-18 minutes of flight time.
I haven't flown a phantom or mavic or yuneec but I'd guess they're flight time is right about 20 minutes as well.Comment
