Man that was great. JLC was excellent. The atmosphere and feel of the movie felt so right. In some instances, it felt as if I was watching the original.

Hats off to everyone who made this movie happen and thanks to you Nick Castle for reminding us how disturbing Michael Myers really is.....

So many people that I know and the people they know are saying they hated the movie. And upon further investigation pretty much all of them have never seen a single movie in the series. I guess that's fine and I could see their point since they've never seen any of the movies.

But this movie was a love letter to die hard fans of the series. And it succeeded beyond what I expected and kept the legacy of Michael and Laurie in high regard.

Yeah, this would be a weird movie to jump into if you hadn't seen at least the original.

It's running on AMC all week. I wish moviegoers would be more responsible than that to do their lowly bit of research upon viewing a sequel.

I'm going to rewatch the original before seeing this one in theaters myself.

Every single person that I know loved it, I am not kidding all of them.
I thought it would be really cheesy and not be very good.
I will be seeing it on Friday night with my GF, we both cannot wait.
Looks like anyone that has watched the series over the years loves it, I cannot wait!

Yes, please, if you haven't seen the original watch it before you watch this one. You don't absolutely need to, but I highly recommend it. You will have a better understanding of the new film.

After seeing it this morning, all I can say is WOW! This movie exceeded my expectations and I am so thrilled to see this movie have the success it's having thus far. I'm excited to see what the future holds!

I am really glad I watched the original last night beforehand. I'd recommend anyone to go that route before seeing this one.

As per spoiler tag rules, since it's been a week since realese we can talk about the movie freely. So read at your own risk.

As I said, I loved the movie, but let's talk a little bit about the negatives.

I need to see it again because I think there was some confusion in the story. Maybe that's just me because people were talking so damn loud during the whole movie.

Anyway, first half of the move there were too many jump scares.

The part where Michael spared the baby humanized him. He is supposed to be evil incarnate. I'm not saying he should have killed the baby, I'm saying that scene shouldn't have been in the movie.

Laurie called Michael "The Shape" was this ever mentioned in the original. I don't believe it was. Why would she say that?

Was Michael hunting Laurie or did he just happen to run into her. He obviously knows she she is. I don't think it was random like a lot of people say. It just doesn't make sense. And Laurie knew he would come for her. So what's his motivation. I guess it's fine we don't know. But you can't tell me he wasn't coming for Laurie the whole time. They wouldn't have built the whole story around her making her house a trap if she didn't know he would come for her.

I guess all those things aren't bad. Just interesting or controversial.

This bothered me a little bit too because they already went out of their way to have him kill a child earlier in the film, but then he spares a baby? There should be no line. I mean, there's no way they could show him kill a baby. Either don't have the scene or maybe have him standing over the crib and then cut to another scene leaving it ambiguous.

This didn't bother me. I just took it as an easter egg. That's what Carpenter calls him and that's how he's credited in the movie.

They said they erased Halloween 2 from canon to get rid of the family dynamic. Meaning he's not just coming after her. He's just out to kill anyone. I liked how they established this by him just going house to house. That is terrifying. Buuuuuuuuuuuut in the original, once he laid eyes on Laurie, he STALKED her all day. He didn't get transfixed and stalk anyone here? He just killed anyone he came across. That was not his behavior in the original....

I took it as he had no intent on going after Laurie. He woke up in the back of that cop car and the closest house was Laurie's. They used the doctor twist just as a device to get Michael near Laurie. I didn't care for that twist btw.

I really enjoyed the movie. Didn't really care for the doctor twist or the fire/abrupt ending, but overall really enjoyed it.
These days I'm less like "Jailhouse Rock" Elvis and more like "dying alone on the toilet" Elvis.

Yeah, I can see what you mean about he and Laurie. It just seems a little convenient that he randomly found her when Laurie knew he would come for her.

But the part where he went house to house was terrifying and cool.

But yeah, the baby thing was dumb.
