For sports fans in Canada, Tim and Sid is ending. Sid moving on to CityTV, Tim still doing the show with cohosts.

Tim and Sid were people you either loved or hated. I liked them and they did a good job covering sports while also being entertaining. The show will be missed a lot. I've never been much of a fan of sports talk shows, but this was one of the only ones I ever got behind.

My TV viewing is already going down with less and less new things on TV that interests me, and while this show is continuing, it obviously won't be the same anymore.

Just say a teaser commercial on Global for Big Brother Canada. It was highlights of Season 8 showing how the season was stopped due to the pandemic.

It ended with: This Is Not The End

New Season Coming Soon. Big Brother Canada 9

I wonder if the cast from Season 8 are going to come back and do it again? 1 or 2 of them quit if I remember right so maybe not all will be invited back if this does happen.

Half that cast was good, half of it sucked.

But it would be interesting to see if they bring the cast back given how people obviously now know each other. I'm sure there will be pregame alliances that will run the season. You know they've probably spoken about it privately about a "what if we return" scenario.

I could see at most a "fans vs faves" type season with half the cast being the BB8 cast who wanted to come back/who producers wanted back, and then new people too. Sheldon and Brooke were my faves from that season and some of only people I liked last season, so hope they get to be 2 people on that cast.

Hopefully we have a good season of BB because I've only seen 1 or 2 good seasons of BB since probably 2017 or so? BBCAN and US included.

Also, BB dropped their longtime casting director. Dont know details about why she's gone, but I'm glad to see it. I'm sure she's not the whole reason, but BB casting sucks (although BBCAN has been better than US), and we know they cast the same kinds of people every season, and dont even do actual background checks (clearly not even a 5 second google search as evident by how many HGs people find major dirt on the second the cast is announced)

Canadian sports really taking a hit.

First Tim and Sid, now it looks like Jay and Dan is done too.

TSN didnt even give them a final show, they just cut them off and let them know AFTER the show was done.

Jay I think is still with TSN, Dan was let go along with Natasha (one of their bigger SC personalities). Not sure the actual reasoning, but definitely a bad look firing someone battling mental health problems (Dan) a week after Bell Let's Talk day....

I wonder if SN will consider Dan for the cohost role with Sid leaving?

                  Dan going off on TSN

Also, Producer Tim (who produced the Jay and Dan show) got let go too.

Bell firing so many people despite making so much money and even taking some funds they shouldn't have recently.

Doesn't sound like they really did any sort of casting call, so perhaps its BBCAN8 2.

So BBCAN9 is really a full new season. That S8 cast really got short end of the stick. But with Arisa taking over in production and maybe the US decision to change casting directors happened in Canada too, this season hopefully can be the relaunch for BB. Enough of the overly scripted stuff and the stereotypes.

And Tim and Sid aired its final episode today. Sad to see it end, but at least we'll have Tim and Friends in just over a week. I do wonder how Sid does on BT. Doubt theres much of a crossover audience between the Tim and Sid viewership and BT crowd.

The bad news in Canadian sports broadcasting continued this week with the sudden death of TSN football commentator and former Dallas Cowboy Chris Schultz from a heart attack. He was 61.

I really enjoyed the insight he brought into both the CFL and NFL. His love for the game really showed whenever he was on the air. Such a positive dude. Sad to see him go.

Glad to see Big Brother Canada was able to do what Big Brother US has never been able to do, especially after how the last 2 seasons went in the US with all the controversies and microaggressions.
                            Spoiler
in the F2 was great. Even had US alumni cheering.

This year was probably the best BBCAN season ever, and outside of BB20, the best North American season of Big Brother in over a decade.

Looks like Rogers is removing US channels from their basic cable offerings. If you're a new customer wanting Fox or NBC or something, you gotta pay extra, regardless which plan you have.

Canadian telecommunications are a joke. CRTC is literally run by people who have been execs for those very companies they're supposed to be regulating. Instead its turned into all those companies being allowed to bend the rules and basically do shady and borderline illegal business and not only be allowed to do it, but its encouraged.

I'm glad that sports are really the main things I watch anyways. Less TV I watch, the less need I'll have for these other networks.
