Didn't realize it until now, but it's still over a month until shows (at least ones I watch) come back. August is almost done, summer shows are slowly starting to wrap up, and sill seems like forever until shows return(most I watch have premieres around mid-October).

Probably seems longer since this has been the least I've watched summer shows ever(outside of Big Brother, I haven't really watched any other summer only show, and even then, BB hasn't been so good), and past 2 years September had been so fun watching baseball every single day.

I've watched the first four episodes of Marlon, which is a sitcom with Marlon Wayans on NBC. It's pretty enjoyable for me. Nothing super insanely clever or groundbreaking but it's fun to watch. And the chicks are hot.

HBO's The Deuce is getting some very good reviews. Premieres Sunday night.

James Franco plays twins who thrived in the Times Square's porn industry after its legalization in the 70's.

I'll watch. Last show of this type was that music one and I hated that. I turned it off in 20 minutes.

            Maybe there'll be boobs.

Did anyone watch The Orville with Seth McFarlane? I set the dvr just to give it a look.

I watched it, I honestly don't know what to make of it. Clearly there's a love for Trek style Sci-Fi (Brannon Braga is involved in the show too) but there's just something "off" about it. The humor is a bit toned down from Seth's usual stuff and honestly, I don't think it really fits. (the best bit of humor was when the crew was gossiping about him and his ex wife) McFarlane doesn't have enough gravitas when they're playing things mostly or completely straight. In fact, I feel he brings things down quite a bit.

I'll give this show a chance but the tone and feel also seems a bit antiquated as well. I can't quite put my finger on the issue at hand but it just isn't clicking to me.

HBO's Deuce (James Franco & Maggie Gyllenhaal) is very good but if you or anybody you're watching with is uncomfortable with sexual situations you might want to skip this. I'm not sure it would get an R Rating if it was presented at the movie theaters. Having said that I can't wait until the next episode.

As usual, Franco is great and Gyllenhal deserves props for her acting and guts for taking this role.

I watched The Deuce premiere. It was ok. Whatever. Feels the same as every other drama. 1970s New York looks like an unbelievable piece of ****.

I'll watch next week I guess.

Yep going away from the one season long storyline as well (the PC stuff for season 19 and the Presidential stuff from last season). Happy for that as well, watching older episodes the past week, one offs were definitely better than the season long storylines.

So every episode is gonna have its own thing now rather than a loose storyline throughout the season?

Yeah it really wasn't funny. It had some laughs, but not enough for a 1 hour show. I'll give it a shot, but if that was the best they had to pull people in, it won't last.
