    Re: 2017-2018 TV Season

I stopped watching This Is Us after about 4 episodes in season one. Not because it was bad, but because I really didn't need a scheduled cathartic cry every week. But flipping channels later I saw that Milo was in the hospital, which was weird, since I thought, from promos, he was supposed to die in a fire. So I decided to watch a bit and see how it turned out.

Goddammit, and I can't even claim it was dusty, because I was blubbering like drunk Pats fan. Seriously, I checkout for most of the last season, and all of this season until tonight, and it still just kills me. What's weird is that the sucker punch Milo's wife gets is almost like what my wife got. She walks out of the room for 10 minutes, comes back in, and I'm all waterworks. I try to explain, and only cry more.

But I do cry when watching some stuff. No kidding, the worst was a PBS documentary about chickens told as several vignettes about people with connections to chickens. the last story was a guy explain gin why he thought the term chicken, for someone lacks bravery was misplaced.

He had a chicken farm, and one was this weird white frilly chicken that didn't fit in. This hen tried so hard to mother chicks of the other hens, but was chased away. Then one day she finally hated her own litter, and she would proudly lead them around the yard.

One day the farmer noticed some the chickens acting weird, and he realized that they had spotted a hawk, and chickens stated panicking and hiding. Well, the white hen saw her little chick out in the middle of the yard and the hawk was bearing down. And this white hen ran to the her chick and dove on it like it was a grenade about to go off, and the hawk wounded on her back.

The farmer came out and the hawk took off, and he was just heartbroken, how the hen had sacrificed herself for the chick. Then, at the last second, the white hen popped up and was okay.

My wife made fun of me for a long time over that one. And yeah, I teared up just thinking about that story.

My interest fizzled out but I'm actually considering going back to it.

I'm far more likely to have an emotional reaction to animals than people, which is weird. My friend still brings up the time I legitimately punched him in the stomach for showing me a video of a cute bunny a family had rescued, nursed back to health, released to the wild, and was immediately snatched up by a bird. He knows I don't like that stuff. I was sort of combo mad, like mad at the vid being shown to me and mad at the person for showing it knowing I'd have a reaction. So he took a gut shot. Probably an overreaction lol, but don't mess with me like that man

I'm basically that same way too. Bad things happening to people is normal, but I don't like when bad things happen to animals, even if "it's nature".

Movie wise, that's why I liked the Apes way more than humans in Planet of the Apes. Especially seeing what happens with Caesar throughout. Rooting for the Apes the entire time.

It has to be right around the corner-they finished filming around August 30th.

We stopped watching This Is Us mid fall last year. We're recording it, but sometimes it's so sad/dramatic that my wife isn't in the mood for all of that. We just started binge watching "The Good Place" that we hadn't seen. Much happier lol.

That noise you hear is Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Jane the Virgin quietly inching closer to renewal. The CW announced Wednesday that beginning this fall, it will expand its Monday-Friday primetime schedule to include a sixth night — Sunday.

CW is gonna start airing shows on Sundays, starting this fall.

Good news given what's been happening recently with their scheduling (Black Lighning premiered and kicked Legends out of its spot, then once Legends did return, they kicked Supergirl out of that slot for a 9 week break until Legends finishes up its 18 episode season).

So with an extra day, this gives them more flexibility on scheduling. I hope this means Legends gets a full season for a change, and perhaps they group the 4 Arrowverse shows together in a 2 day span, and have Black Lightning/Riverdale on its own day, and would still have 3 days left to fill with their other shows.

I like all three actresses and it could be good. Premieres this Monday night.

Nice, for some reason I thought it wasn't coming back until Fall 2018.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

                          Looking forward to Timeless!

Might check out Good Girls, we'll see.

Saw the 2nd AP Bio (missed the first somehow) but now gonna record and hope it can keep getting better. It's not perfect yet but so many funny jokes.

Good Girls had a good ratings debut and I enjoyed it even if some of the dialogue between Mae Whitman's character and her TV daughter was a bit unrealistic.

I find it weird how the same actor is starring on 2 CBS shows at the same time (Johnny Galecki, Leonard from BBT). I know they have BBT and Young Sheldon for Jim Parsons, but that 2nd role is a narration.
