So Phillip is like the old, retired master coming back to take an apprentice? Or was that just a one time butt kicking?

I think he was disturbed about Elizabeth's ambivalence toward Paige's spy future, so he probably went over there just to help her anyway he could and then one thing lead to another. I don't know for sure-part of it might have been him getting miffed at his daughter questioning his commitment to the cause. Phillip leads with his heart so much it's hard to 100% read his motives. Did Paige really think she could compete and even hurt an agent of Phillip's caliber just because he had three or so years off?

I think it continues with the theme from last week that Phillip wants Paige to know that she doesn't know **** about any of this. The derision with which he told her to not tell her about "the real world" and when he told her to fight her and that dismissive "please" he dropped on her after she first came at him, oof. What a fantastic scene.

What a great episode overall. Just so damn good.

Business is going to start picking up, gentlemen.

Unfortunately for young Phillip, probably not the travel agency's business...

Did you see the look on Stan's face after Philip hugged him?

Once spotlighted the travel agency front proves pretty thin in excusing Phillip and Elizabeth's middle of the night emergencies.

If Stan already suspects Phillip and Elizabeth I think this will be the cincher:

Yeah, middle of the night emergencies are not typically something you’d associate with a travel agency. Definitely suspicious.

Another rough death scene, but still an outstanding episode. This has been my favorite season since Season 2.

They've hit it out of the park this season.

I felt sorry for the kid when he thought he was in danger. No way was Liz going to hurt him.

The makeup people have always done a great job at making both Elizabeth and Philip look tired, worn out, and flat out old.

My only drawback is that Stan is all of a sudden putting pieces together regarding his neighbors. What's he been doing for the past 4 seasons?

I guess the main reason for his suspicion is both of them running off during Thanksgiving weekend and then losing "Harvest" at the same time. I'd assume that most travel agents don't have to fly to Houston in the middle of the night, during a major holiday, in order to save a client.

With that said, one thing I've wondered is couldn't the FBI just pull flight records and see that either of them flew to Houston during that time span?

Also, I hope this isn't the case but I'm starting to feel like Elizabeth has lung cancer. It feels like that they've made it a point to talk about how much she smokes in just about every episode this season.

I feel like a lot of his thoughts are similar to ones he formulated in season 1. Hell, in the very first episode he breaks into their garage and checks the trunk of the car. Elizabeth is "sick" and goes to her aunt's house to "recover" immediately after the FBI encounter the man and woman at the fake drop.

A part of me feels like they stretched it out to the end I guess.

Yeah but one of the reasons for the focus on the cigarette smoking was to set up a part of last night's episode when the Roy Roger's guy reveals that the beautiful lady suspect "smoked like a stack" causing Stan to remember the multitude of cigarette butts he found in "The Americans'" backyard when he was "casing the joint".
