Totally. Apparently Patty Jenkins has been eyeing to cast Wiig forever somewhere, and found her as the perfect person for this role here.

I almost think that these actors do get too much credit for performing in serious roles, though. I mean even Jonah Hill, who transformed as a different person in Moneyball, did not exactly deserve an Oscar for his performance either. That's just one man's opinion of course. Nevertheless, I like when comedians are able to do this, and do it very well at the same time.

So Dr. Dre is in the early stages of a Marvin Gaye biopic. At this point i'm in the "i'll believe it when I see a trailer" stage. There's been so many Marvin Gaye related projects that have vanished into the ether. Hell, even the Jesse L. Martin indie film focusing on Marvin's last years HAD a trailer and 75% filmed but the money ran out.

Apparently Dre has Marvin's full music catalogue and they're going ahead with the early stages of getting this off the ground.

I hope this goes through too. I love all his music and listen to it all the time but I don’t know much about him.

Well, then we're both making assumptions to either side. I go back to my interest in these kinds of roles generally being better served by lesser known/recognizable actors and actresses since we can have some pre-conceived notions about them from earlier roles and presentations (like Wiig in various SNL skits). For the record I really liked her in Ghost Town, but, see, I think that that's her kind of character; subtle humor.

Basically, I guess we'll see what the opinion is overall after the movie is out. I'm sure fanboys will love no matter what and those who hate comic book movies will scorn no matter what. Jury is out.

Spider-Man 2's title is allegedly Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Or this is a smokescreen.

EDIT: It's official. Kevin Feige confirmed that was the title. And just like Homecoming, it's a title that has more than one meaning.

Jared Leto is reportedly in talks (and the favorite) to play Morbius in another Sony Spider-Man spin-off.

I think they'll wait to see how Venom does before fully committing to a Morbius movie AND a Silk movie.

I think Leto is great casting for Morbius. He can handle the dignified suffering of the character very well IMO.

I agree, it just seems like Sony is in full Spider-Man mode after seeing how successful Disney was with that universe.

So apparently Tarantino is going to do an R-rated Star Trek film after his Manson project and according to Zach Quinto the JJ Abrams reboot crew will play some part in it.

I was reading some info on upcoming DC movies, and the directors of the Flash solo movie Flashpoint are reportedly using Back to the Future as one source of inspiration.

Not necessarily a rumor for one movie, but the DC Extended Universe has officially been named Worlds of DC, allowing DC to make their movies under one brand, while maintaining that they are part of different universes.

I know it's not going to happen but i'd definitely run with the concept of Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters as in the old continuity they came from Earth X which was an earth where Nazi Germany won WWII. You can have your jingoism but in a context that doesn't necessarily apply to today's scene.
