Re: Burt Reynolds has died.
Nope. Don't ever plan on it either. But I also haven't been in any movies that required me to wear a prosthetic of that nature, so my opinion doesn't really matter whatsoever.
But here's what the actual dude said.
“I don’t want to compromise my artistic integrity or choices based on my faith or my family, but I also have other things to consider, and being a little bit older and a little wiser, the idea of having to explain that movie and the reason behind it to my kids is another issue,” Wahlberg told PEOPLE.Boston Red Sox

Re: Burt Reynolds has died.
I read what Wahlberg said. Essentially, that's a non-answer. It keeps him in good with the Hollywood types because that's his bread and butter as he keeps making the parody and/or based on a true story type movies.
You have to read between the lines.
So in moving right along.....if you haven't seen the King of Queens episode as of yet, where Reynolds is Doug's high school football coach and they meet up again as Doug has to deliver a package to the high school.... it's great. Reynolds again parodying himself to a certain degree.Comment

Re: Burt Reynolds has died.
Or explaining Ted 2 to his kids where he and a stuffed teddy bear try to steal Tom Brady's semen?
GTFOH Wahlberg. Give me a break.
I think explaining getting a BJ from Roller Girl is a lot easier than doing bong hits and stealing semen with a talking teddy bearLast edited by Armor and Sword; 09-11-2018, 06:31 PM.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Burt Reynolds has died.
It's not like Wahlberg hasn't done other (and quite possibly more) degrading things in Hollywood after he's become a big name. Explaining his actions in Boogie Nights is a lot easier than anything he's done in the Ted movies.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Burt Reynolds has died.
Silly debate guys. If you are worried about what your kids will think then don’t be an actor.
Far more worst things being portrayed in Hollywood than being a porn star. Murderers, rapist, the most evil things have been on screen.
Besides if I were mark, I would tell my kids the truth and say hey I’m naked in this movie and I’m pretty sure his kids would be “eww gross” and wouldn’t even take a glimpse. Maybe when they are mature adults they would and would have a big laugh at it and be proud their dad did an awesome movie.
Anyway I wanted to take a chance and give my appreciation to Burt. I loved Smokey and Bandit and loved the Trans Am growing up. I thought it was coolest car ever.
No one rocked a mustache better. My mom made my dad grow out his stache so he could look more like Burt Reynolds. True story.
RIP Burt

By the way, the Norm MacDonald stories about wanting to imitate 70's Burt and then what they would have done on SNL are hilarious. Stupid Lorne Michaels!Comment

Re: Burt Reynolds has died.
I’ve heard for years that Burt has a book written and ready to publish once he died. In it he is dishing all kinds of dirt on things he had to do when he was a young actor trying to make it in the movies. It supposedly named names and things like that. If this book is real I’ll be picking up the day it comes out.I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

He would not go into it much but said he would one day.
Apparently these parties were cocaine parties that led to lots of sex.
it was the 80's so its not really a surprise.
Of course the interview I saw speculated on who would go to these huge parties and Burt would just laugh when they asked him names.
The show then cut to asking some of the people they mentioned.
Every one of the people they asked about the parties would smile very big and say I don't know what you are talking about.
Oh to be a fly on the wall of one of these parties.
The rumor is large games of football would break out too.
Sounds like a lot of fun!ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: Burt Reynolds has died.
I saw an interview with him once in which he was asked about his "Party Farm" he owned in Florida. Apparently he threw some very large, fun parties at a house he owned on a bunch of land in Florida. A lot of very famous actors, athletes, and politicians would go once a year or so.

Sorta like the big party scene at his home where he introduces Dirk Diggler to everyone in Boogie Nights. How ironic. Now Playing on PS5:

It does remind me though of how after Larry Hagman died the full extent of some of his bad behavior came out. Apparently he had cocaine/LSD fueled orgy/parties and such much to the chagrin of his wife and daughter.
As for the idea of Burt having a tell-all book just waiting to be published? I would immediately buy it as soon as its up for pre-order at Amazon or what have you.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Burt Reynolds has died.
I liked Hagman's reminiscing about his Dallas days when he drank five bottles of champagne a day on set (from 9 AM to 9 PM). I guess he was just medium buzzed all day because he said he never got drunk.Comment

The very definition of a functioning drunk. A lot of the Classic Hollywood and up to about the 1960s vintage folks had some vices but pushed on rather well. They'd be crucified in this age of social media and such.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
