The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Netflix)

Has anybody else started this yet?

I watched the first episode last night. It is definitely not your TGIF Sabrina. Obviously a little slow in order to setup everything and introduce characters, but I'm really enjoying it so far.

Finished five episodes last weekend. I like it but don't love it yet. I was hoping for something at Santa Clarita Diet level but it hasn't got there.

I was talking with a co-worker who expressed similar sentiments. She binged it last weekend and enjoyed it, but she didn't come way overly impressed.

Is this on the same field as Riverdale?

The premise and potential aim of this show disturb me:

“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” Will Be Extremely Satanic

The opening paragraph of this article sums it up nicely:

“Sabrina the Teenage Witch” was a 90’s sitcom featuring a talking cat and dumb jokes emphasized by a laugh track. Fifteen years later, Netflix decided to reboot the show and, judging by the trailer, there will be no laugh track. Instead, the show will be a terrifying ordeal featuring blood, maggots, Baphomet and satanic rituals.

Truly, the original Bewitched who introduced Sabrina as a toddler witch and then this series referenced above were just corny, humorous shows. Why take this to such a dark level? Why such blatant depictions of Satanic creatures? Makes one wonder, doesn't it?

I doubt this is the show for Bible Belt people, but ultimately Sabrina

This show is based on the horror comic of the same name. From what I understand this is more in line with the comic than anything else. This show and Riverdale are part of the same comic universe, that's why it's referenced in the show.

It doesn't have to be Bible Belt or bust..... also could be an interest to influence those on the fence about witchcraft / misguided teens. You gotta admit there's some sort of agenda here with this subject matter and the levels/symbolism they're going to.

Oh, are you unfamiliar with the Vigilant Citizen? There's a Satanist/Illuminati/mind control agenda around every corner. I'm curious what they'd think about the OS logo.

See.... I knew if I said something like this, there would be those who would get into mocking. You gotta admit that constant weird **** comes out of Hollywood and associates and they want the public to just accept it, brush it off, dismiss it or whatever. The young actors/actresses who have such ****ed up lives later as adults, the early deaths/suicides. Yep....keep turning a blind eye. Exactly what they want. I was worried about the lead actress in this ever since I saw her in Mad Men. Hopefully it won't have the sad ending that many like her have experienced. Keep an open mind, fellas.

I'm far more concerned about the The Vigilant Citizen's agenda than Sabrina's.

But that's just me. I could be a member of the Belluminati, who knows?

Taco Bell released a couple of ads entitled "Belluminati" which feature a creepy secret society and a flurry of Illuminati symbolism. Is this a case of "brilliant marketing" or is the elite flaunting its power in plain sight? Taco Bell is mostly known for its cheap, diarrhea inducing, pseudo-Mexican food. Indeed, it is the best place to

I think we're just confused on what you're trying to say or what exactly you're placing blame on.

Yeah I don't really think there's an agenda. At least no more than shows like Charmed, Buffy, Supernatural, etc.

All I'm saying is consider the possible agenda of shows like this. Mere entertainment? Hope you're right. The teenage orgy scene sort of suggests otherwise.

Hey....let's not forget that classic line ..... and interestingly who was given that line:

I'll be watching from a distance Kiernan Shipka and what happens with her career.
