This is extremely OT but I have an 1100 song 90s rock shuffle list, I got to the end of the night and I usually say to myself "welp, we're done, or one more song" and then "She Don't Use Jelly" came on. It was such a crazy coincidence I had to post it here

blew my mind that it came on at the last minute lol, oh satan that was crazy

I'm one of the old guys who preferred the Lips before Jelly, though the album it came from is fantastic. But it was also kind of the end of them as a rock band, as they went more avant-guarde after that. Still some great stuff.

But when I saw them live, they were loud, like The Who loud, and felt more like a cross between the Sex Pistols and Pink Floyd. And when I say loud, I mean when I saw them at the Grand Emporium in KC (1989), they were banned from ever playing there again because they were so loud. A lot of folks left, including some of my friends.

I stood the front and soaked it in, but was I was in pain for days afterwards. The Flaming Lips were loud, had strobe lights and bubbles going, and did some awesome covers. That night I saw them do Wish You Were Here during soundcheck, and they did Brain damage, also by Floyd, during the show. I also met the band before the show in a surreal tale that I can't really get into here.

I have not seen them live since the 1994 Lollapalooza tour, which was my third time.

As for Sabrina, I'm just looking forward to the Xmas show and season 2. I've seen some best shows of 2018 lists that don't have this, and I think it deserves to be there. Might have just been too late for some people to notice.

Finally checked out the first couple of episodes. There isn't anything wrong with the dark nature of the content or the actresses partaking in it. This is art and nothing more.

2 episodes in and I'm intrigued. Very impressed with Kiernan Shipka's acting.

I do miss Salem from the show. I mean this Salem is cool, but the old sarcastic Salem was great. Ambrose does kind of make up for him though.

It's fine, but it is just too CW for us. It does have a cool Twin Peaks meets 90210 vibe going on, but it is still mostly a really shallow soap for teens. And I find the way they handled the teacher raping Archie a million times more problematic than anything we saw in Sabrina.
I started Riverdale when it first came out, the idea of a true to life Archie show sounded intriguing. Plus they were aiming for a darker more gritty take. Then the show actually happened and I realized by dark gritty take they meant Teen Drama.

I'm 31 years old, I'll pass on the teen drama stuff. I was so glad Sabrina even though it dabbles in the teen drama stuff, is more centered around her duality and how to play both sides with a larger picture of stuff going on.

I got maybe 6 episodes into Rivderdale before i gave up. My 14 year old sister swore the remaining episodes of Season 1 were good and she said even season 2 was good. However even she thinks the current season is trash and she's the demographic they're going after.

I never watched the Holiday special episode, is it worth watching knowing it doesn't advance the story at all?

It was a good episode and while it doesn't progress the story it's nice to have a resting moment in-between.

So I finally finished the first season. Wow it got dark, in a great way.

I enjoyed the first few episodes, but I did think it was missing something. It found that something in a big way at the end, and that trailer for season 2...wow. I'm excited for 4/5.

I watched the first half of the new season this weekend.

It's good, but not quite what I had hoped.

I've finished episode 4 last night, i'm not fond of this second half of the season either. This is not a spoiler, but form the first time we've met Nicholas Scratch, i feel like there's more to him than meets the eye. I want to believe he's "The Darklord" in disguise.

So...it took a while but I finally finished season 2. This show is definitely following a pattern where the first few episodes are just kind of decent, but then it gets great fast. Looking forward to season 3, but doesn't sound like it will be ready by halloween.

Just finished the season last night. Did you ever finish? I'm not going to say you're completely wrong.

We went through Part 2 over the last two weeks. The first 3 or 4 episodes were good. Definitely the low-key part of the season. Once you hit the episode with the tarot readings then **** just ****ing escalates in a flash. Nothing feels too sudden, but all the gears clicking into place at the same time really pushes the story forward a lot more than I expected it to be by the end of the season.

Of course, they keep up with Christianity inversions. It's not really distracting to me as they don't go completely overboard with it, but I can see a lot of people being closed off to this due to some of the phrasing and imagery they used throughout.

Sabrina is great and her use of powers was awesome. The aunts are still fantastic and their chemistry together and with Sabrina is flawless. Outside of them I'd say my favorite character was Lilith. Her backstory was really interesting and I found her business-like demeanor at the end relatable and hilarious.

With the way the overall story progressed so quickly in the middle of the season I was prepared to learn that show was not renewed, but that's not the case. Parts 3 & 4 will be coming.

Originally there was some concern about season 3 not being ready for a while, but I recently read that season 3 filming has been wrapped up. It would be awesome if we could get S3 in time for Halloween, but it does seem unlikely since there have not been any previews for it yet.

If some shows treat teens as shallow cartoons, here's a supernatural drama that treats them with a refreshing level of maturity.
