Re: Avengers: End Game
Spoiler
I'm not going to lie, I was hoping Hulk would get a piece of Thanos there at the end when he was trying to get the iron gauntlet (sorry Pack)
I enjoyed Fat Thor. But my favorite part of IW was when we got Badass Thor landing at Wakanda. So when Badass Thor showed up here, I was pumped. Best part of the movie for me, until ...
Captain America said hold my beer, with the hammer.
Then Iron Man said hold my keg, with his "I am Iron Man"
Did anybody recognize the kid from IM3 at the end? We had to look him up.
SpoilerWhen Captain America got Mjölnir the theater went crazy, Cap while also using his shield was using it better than Thor. That whole scene was crazy man. Loved it, then when Black Panther and everybody came through..man it got live.
Just thought about something..question..SpoilerAt the end of the movie during Tony's funeral they showed everybody together and their little groups but who was the young dude right before the showed Captain Marvel on the steps?Last edited by Sinner; 04-26-2019, 09:21 PM.-= Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.=- Edward MurphyComment

Re: Avengers: End Game
I saw it twice (6pm Imax 3d, 2am Dolby) and enjoyed it both times (taking advantage of that AMC movie pass). In my 6pm showing the entire theater went crazy throughout which was a constant distraction. Fortunately though the 2am showing was much more respectful. Also, that was my first time seeing a movie in Dolby, and I gotta say. Damn that picture is nice.
SpoilerI loved the movie, and I thought it was a fitting end to the saga. Part of me was a bit disappointed we didn't get more action, but then I can also appreciate the buildup of everything leading into the epic final confrontation. Side by side I think Infinity War was a better movie, but the way this one closed out the saga was very fitting.
Regardless, this movie and this MCU saga was one hell of a ride. Hard to believe we've been following these characters for a span of 22 movies over 11 years. I remember my first exposure to the MCU was watching the first Iron Man while on a plane to Japan to study for a few weeks in college, and even on that tiny airplane screen I was instantly hooked to the movie, the character and the entire MCU going forward. Tony Stark's character was perfect for sparking the MCU, and it was fitting that he would be the one to bring it all to the end.
As fitting as it was though, the MCU is going to miss Tony in a big way. There are some great actors/characters still around to carry the torch, but to me Tony/Robert Downey Jr. carried the franchise over the last decade (taking nothing away from Cap, Thor or the others as they were just as vital to the franchise, but imo Tony was the lynchpin). I don't see anyone left who can fill those shoes in the way Tony did, and I'm okay with that. I'm looking forward to more MCU movies, but I would not be upset if End Game ends up being the end of the "epic" stories within the franchise. Let the MCU Phase 1 team's final hurrah kind of just be it.Comment

Re: Avengers: End Game
No there is a theater about 50 minutes away that does but it is also a really popular theater, and does more than your popcorn and soda type of food. But because it is popular it tends to sale out a lot and for a movie this big it may be sold out for like the first two full weeks or something. The theater I tend to go to is about 30 minutes from me and the other like 3 theaters that are closer then that dont do assigned seats either. I think most theaters dont but maybe I am wrong.Comment

Re: Avengers: End Game
Got back from seeing it with the wife today and I'm torn, my impressions are as follows:
SpoilerThe movie was good but not great Imo. Personally wasn't a fan of the time travel story and the movie tried to hammer into us it's logic of time traveling but I still didn't like the logic behind it. The Russo brothers being so detailed about every aspect of their movies, I felt very let down by the explanations!! Maybe I'm over analyzing the logic behind time traveling but it's leaving me with plot holes.
Bruce enforces the idea that time travel doesn't work the same way it does in Back to the Future. Makes a big point to say if your future becomes your pass then your pass becomes your future etc etc. So usually there are two types of time traveling theories, either the back to the future theory of changing the past affecting the future or the theory of multiple realities. Avengers pushes the theory of multiple realities once Banner speaks to the Supreme sorceress, but the one thing that Bruce says that creates the issue in my mind is the sentence about bringing back all the realities into one once they have all the stones. So the idea If I'm not mistaken means all of the branching realities get streamlined back into the one main one.
My issue then becomes Loki disappearing in the past, Nebula killing herself and them defeating 2014 Thanos in 2019. If all the realities are brought back to one versus having multiple realities then that leaves a ton of holes through time. And they're simple explanation is combing realities!!!?
I don't know why but that bothered me a lot for some reason. That and the premise of the movie being a literal throwback to the original Avengers and the first movie. I personally wasn't a fan of going back in time and having to avoid your past self etc.
With all the negativity out of the way, the ending battle was EPIC, every well done and had some awesome throw backs. Captain America handling Thor's hammer was a gleeful moment. The last battle was awesome. And the actual ending was a great send off to the original cast. I don't want to seem like I'm being negative about the movie I did enjoy it but I still think infinity war is slightly better Imo. Endgame definitely a good movie though. And I can't forget to mention, the first 10-15 mins of the movie!!!!! Completely unpredictable, I was very surprised by it.Last edited by marshallfever; 04-27-2019, 09:52 PM.Comment
