I wanted a movie, not an hour and a half tribute show before the movie started. Don't really care for all the emotional callbacks either. I feel like they tried to not make time travel a cop out but by doing that over-explained the process while still making it confusing as hell................. then I had to learn Thanos smacked my man Hulk into Urkel. Hulk was pretty much useless. That's pretty much the gist of it for me. Good movie but I won't be going back to the movies to see it like I did End Game.

One glaring cut after multiple viewings is Lang getting out of the storage facility. You don't cast Ken Jeong as a security guard, have him interact w/ Paul Rudd and them have no speaking lines.

Makes sense to not detract from the rest of the movie, we got the narrative elements they probably covered filled in elsewhere (length of time in quantum realm, etc).

I think the difference there is that they were going back to the exact moment that they took the stones to return them which is why they finessed the stones away in most cases so that they wouldn't be missed. The only timeline that ended up getting altered would be the one where Loki got away with the Tesseract which would be the same one where Steve fought himself. I'd imagine we'll explore the ramifications of that in Loki's Disney+ series whenever that comes out.

See that's where I think they screwed up. You're right in the explanation you gave, as that was how it was explained to us. But in the overall context of how they explained time within this movie, working within the rules given to us here, I don't believe that would work.

Once that stone was taken (we'll call this timeline A), that timeline would play out without the stone. Unless time can be stopped, which it can't as presented to us, there is no going back to drop the stones off to prevent the problems of losing a stone. Bringing the stone back to that exact time would just create a separate timeline, B. Timeline A would remain without the stone.

And as they pointed out, you can't travel to a time/place that hasn't happened yet, so there is no returning the stone to timeline A to bring that universe back into balance. You can only return to the time that the stone was taken, and that would only result in a separate timeline where the stone never left. Timeline A wouldn't disappear or revert back. As they repeatedly stated, this isn't back to the Future.

And then you have to factor in how impossible it would be to return to the EXACT time to the milli milli milli milli....milli second of when the stone was removed in the first place.

We'd also have to ignore how much time passed between when they returned to their own time and when they were able to bring the stones back. As I stated earlier, time doesn't stop. So whatever damage/events removing the stone leads to would already have been set into motion during the time it was missing.

We can try to explain that time away by using the quantum realm and how it's slower/faster. But even that is applied inconsistently. Ant-Man was gone for 5 hours in the quantum realm. Which was 5 years in the real world. Ok fine....But in The Wasp, the mom was lost in the quantum realm which seemed to be going in real time as she was just as old as Pymm when she came out of it....Then Cap uses the Quantum realm to stay back and live his life and comes back an old man. But in reality he was gone for 10 seconds or whatever. So when he went back, time was going FASTER for him than in the real world for some reason.

So they were all over the place with that too. [emoji23]

All in all, they could have avoided the issue altogether if they never had the wizard lady make such a big deal about losing the stone in the first place. It wouldn't affect the story and there wouldn't be anything to figure out how to make it work. But it was included, so here we are. Lol

They're in a weird spot, like wrestling with dirt sheets. We knew about RDJ's contract and him getting paid tons so him leaving was expected, we knew Cap was on his way out. That leaves Black Widow who I never really cared much about, and it's made worse because I actively dislike Hawkeye and wanted badly for him to die there.

I don't know if you're a Mass Effect guy, but I always go back to the end of 2: the "suicide mission". They put so much emphasis on the idea that this mission is basically a fools errand and then anyone who's played the game through will make it through without losing anyone. Just doesn't fit, and it's bugged me with war in everything since. If you're going to act like this is the battle to end all battles, I need body bags to match. Some people needed to bite it during that battle scene.

It'll be interesting to see box office returns on Black Widow's movie when it comes out assuming it's in the past and won't have any consequence on the future of the franchise.

I feel about the same as Shiz and Blzer myself.

As I posted earlier, the first two hours were cool nothing great. The last hour was excellent. But that in of itself isn't enough to make up for the first TWO hours of the movie.

For me, I just compare it to some of my favorite marvel films. Ragnarok I'd enjoy watching from beginning to end. Guardians beginning to end. Infinity War beginning to end.

With this movie I can not say the same. There aren't too many memorable or exciting moments in the first TWO hours of the movie. Again two hours. That's a whole 'nother movie lol. For me that can't be ignored because of the greatness of the third hour.

And like others have mentioned,

we didn't get to see Hulk **** **** up. Nothing. I thought this was going to be a coming out party for him after we see him catching hands in the last movie and subsequently not wanting to come out after. Like a mini story for him, I thought it was going to follow the typical heros journey of conflict-doubt-resolution. And it never happened this movie. 🤷🏾*♂️

But that was just a small added disappointment for me personally.

He damn sure didn’t undo Thanos purpose in life. Because even after that, he still had ANOTHER chance to snap his fingers and turn everyone into dust until Stark stopped him and somehow swiped all 6 of the stones off Thanos and until his own Gauntlet.

I’ll give him credit for bringing everyone back though but that’s it.

Lol Like I said earlier I understand why they needed that version of Hulk but I would have rather had Hulk then when the time came for Professor Hulk Banner takes over in Hulks body to wear and use the Gauntlet...but of course that wouldn't have worked either cause he was needed even before he wore the Gauntlet. Maybe if he switched to normal Hulk during the big batter at the end. Didn't kill the movie for me but that did bug me a bit.
