where all the woman went on a charge with Marvel was out of place and wouldnt of effected the movie if it was left out? I mean the whole scene seemed like a "look at me" move rather than add anything too the fight itself. It was almost eye roll bad too me.

I noticed that and rolled my eyes a little but These superheroes are such a huge deal to so many people and I totally understand where that moment was probably really impactful for young women for example.

The one that kinda annoyed me was (if I remember it right)

Hulk waiting until the middle of the battle to tell everyone they need to return the stones. Feels like it was done solely for the effect of breaking up the drama a little bit but it made no sense at all

At least that’s how I remember it going down but I might be misremembering it.

I wanted a movie, not an hour and a half tribute show before the movie started. Don't really care for all the emotional callbacks either. I feel like they tried to not make time travel a cop out but by doing that over-explained the process while still making it confusing as hell................. then I had to learn Thanos smacked my man Hulk into Urkel. Hulk was pretty much useless. That's pretty much the gist of it for me. Good movie but I won't be going back to the movies to see it like I did End Game.

When they went back in time to the first Avenger movie, i actually rolled my eyes. The movie felt more like an homage to the original cast and the first movie which is fine, but in being this big finale i wanted more than just an homage to that film. I needed this to stand on it's own like Infinity War.

The movie isn't bad, but it's no where near Infinity War for me. Coupe with the inconsistent timeline theories, they just fumbled the ball in quite a few spots. However the conclusion was great and it was a great send off to Cap and Ironman.

Who else here didn't have the Natasha scene resonate for them? I like her character but the fact that the same scene played out in Infinity War, it made this one loose it's touch. I understand the same scene had to play out to get the Soul Stone, but i was more impacted by Thanos doing it than by Hawkeye and Black Window.

Movie imo is a solid 8/10
While Infinity War was a 9.8/10

Funny, when they were going to do it, I was going to say: "Oh ****, they're going to recreate these moments from scratch, de-age all the actors, and revise their history. That's so cool!" I then re-realized how they said things about like talking to their past selves, and going: "Nevermind, they are just planting duplicates in B-roll fashion." Really took away from how I thought they were going to make it happen.

Like, when they showed the panning shot of the Avengers, I assumed they were going to stay on that cut and have them do something different, like then say: "Alright, let's go get those stones" and deviate completely. That would have been bonkers.

I haven't read/heard anything yet about this film outside of bits from this thread, and I'm still living off the one time I saw it. I took a lot of mental notes about the timeline stuff, and a lot of things don't add up for me at all. This is especially irritating when they tried to do something completely different with time travel "not affecting their current timeline" and contradicted the format on so many levels. Maybe I am misremembering though, because I keep going back to the rooftop scene with Banner and Tilda Swinton's character regarding what they were talking about.

Again, this isn't the best time for me to collect my thoughts and ask my questions, but I will certainly have many of them when I'm able to sit down and write them out.

Oi, same. It was like a carbon copy (besides the volunteerism), even down to the score that played and the zoom out shot from down below of the fallen victim. This, atop the time travel bits where they revisited previous films and the idea of stone collecting for a snap, is the retreading I was referring to earlier that made this fill too rehashed.

Not to mention, part of me thought maybe they could bring her back from the dead afterward. Hawkeye later said this was irreversible or something. I'm thinking Red Skull may have said the same thing, but I missed it. I then realized when people like Loki, Quicksilver, and Thor's mother couldn't return, then only the dusted would be able to do so.

EDIT: I was also thinking it would be funny if Hawkeye was lying in the shallow water and found no soul stone there in hand. They lingered on that shot for quite a while so I was thinking: "Hmm, maybe they won't allow it because she sorta went off herself, or maybe he didn't love her most.

There was a good article I read somewhere that talked about the movie not really acknowledging how Earth had become healthier. Cap made a passing comment about seeing a pod of whales in the Hudson because there was less ship traffic and cleaner water but that was it.

Thanos did the planet a favor, really.

So the whole time travel thing while playing Homage to the first movie was a turn off, but then the logic they were using to explain their "tom foolery" was completely absurd. I understand time travel isn't real so rules don't exist, so every movie is able to tell it's own version of time travel but their reasoning and theory really turned me off.

They make it a huge point to mentioned Time traveling doesn't work the way it does in movies like Back to the Future, hence why "killing baby thanos" is mute because their past can't be changed or altered. That idea is fine and usually results in a "multiple time-line theory." The idea that changing the past doesn't affect the future but created another time line where the events that caused the future don't happen. A lot of movies and theories usually end up using the Back to the Future theory or the multiple time line theory which is perfectly fine.

However the huge inconsistency occurs during Banner's conversation with the Sorceress Supreme. She clearly illustrates the issue; By removing the time stone from her "reality/timeline" it would cause a branching timeline where she wouldn't be able to fight off the forces of darkness.

Bruce's response to her is where the problem lies, Bruce tells her, they can use the Infinity stones "the Gauntlet" to trim all of the branches so the timeline returns to normal, i.e. trimming the branches so only ONE time line is remaining.

Because of that, the movie completely eliminates the idea of the multiple timeline theory. Their conclusion is all of those events are happening "on top, under, and around" each other in one timeline.

So Nebula killing herself doesn't matter, 2014 Thanos dying in 2023, Loki disappearing from the first Avenger Time line. These 3 specific things somewhat distort everything. And their explanation is, It's fine because they're all happening at once which makes NO SENSE.

It sort of irked me because i've found the way the Infinity War was filmed to be very instrumental. Man, I thought this movie was pretty damn amazing from start to finish. It had the perfect mix of humor, emotion and action and I actually thought all of the call backs were pretty cool. I didn't get too deep into thinking about all of the time travel stuff. I can see where there are some plot holes but I'm not losing sleep over them. I don't know, maybe I'm easy to please.

It felt unnecessary only in that Capt Marvel didn't need the help. She had just trashed the whole ship army.. a few hundred soldiers wasn't going to stop her. Not because it was all women.

But I thought it was pretty cool idea, just could've been presented in a different scenario where it would've been necessary. Maybe with Capt Marvel leading the way and all the women by her side instead of lead blocking.

Rushed in the sense that they tried to add too much to each character and it didnt feel polished at all.. That's what I mean when I said it felt rushed …..

Yeah, I have some other quibbles too and I have to wrap my head around how they said the "multiple timelines" versus "one timeline" thing.

Don't take any of my comments to mean I didn't like the film. I enjoyed it immensely, start to finish as you did. A second, third, fourth, and fifth time of re-watching it? Not sure yet. That last hour, though? Hell yes. I felt that every minute in IW from start to finish was necessary, though. I didn't feel the same for this movie. And don't get me wrong, I would've watched another extra hour in the beginning of this film and I never would've left my seat, much less moved in it. IW is definitely the tighter script though.

Okay, what are everybody's funniest moments? I'll say that the bits that had me laughing most were:

When Lang was trying to get a photo with the little kids in the diner after they got one with Banner.

Also, when Tony told Rocket: "Honestly, until this exact second, I thought you were a Build-a-Bear."

And this is stupid, but during random times in the second half of the film, I re-reminded myself of a part when Nebula told Rhodes something like: "I'm not the person I used to be." When they cut back to Don Cheadle, I was half-expecting him to say: "I know what you mean. I used to be Terrence Howard." Every time after that he appeared on screen, I chuckled a little bit inside.

The two main things that brought a tear to my eye were:

When all of the good guys were slowly coming out of the portals. That. Was. So. Beautiful. Eleven years and twenty-two films, and it was all coming together in one epic moment.

Also, of course... starting when we saw the wreath with the arc reactor which read: "Proof that Tony Stark has a heart," and ending Tony's hologram telling his daughter: "I love you 3000."

Oh, and I loved the end credits for the headlining actors.

Paying the $6 “early bird” price for the 12:30p show and having maybe 10 other people in the theater today was super awesome.

Spoilers really aren't that serious. Does it suck when somebody does it? Sure. But grand scheme of things, pretty low on the scale.

When I went to see Infinity War, there was a group of teens running through the lobby yelling "Spider-Man dies! Black Panther dies!".

You know what I did? Thought "Hmm...wonder if that really happens". What I didn't do was wish harm on them.

Same thing happened with this movie. A very prominent NFL player tweeted out what happens. And I thought, "I wonder if that really happens or if he's just saying stuff".

It's really that easy to deal with spoilers. Just because somebody says something doesn't mean it's true. And if you see a screenshot of the movie or a video or a gif? So what.

The only time I had something spoiled like that was when Han Solo died in The Force Awakens. Somebody posted a picture they took of the screen at that exact moment and put it on Instagram. I thought to myself, "Oh, ok. Han dies." And then a few days later saw the movie with no issue.

But I get it. The cool thing on the 'net is to be completely outraged when somebody ruins like 10 seconds of a 3 hour movie.
