As I said, from sacrificing nearly everything to save the realm in E3 to Mad Queen in E5. Hard to buy that.

Dany going all Anakin Skywalker does makes a lot of sense for her arc but needed to be better executed. She was pursuing a strange throne in a strange land; she's learning it may not be all she'd hoped it would be. She's lost all of her advisors and has been betrayed by nearly everyone. But we needed a little more desperation for her to get to Mad Queen status, a little more rock bottom, a little more "I have to do this" when it comes to burning Kings Landing. Her voluntarily murdering thousands of innocent civilians doesn't sit well.

It seems like that's going to be a theme here to wind down the series: there are no heroes and (apparently) we can undo years worth of character development in one scene or one episode and characters will turn selfish as hell at their most desperate moments. Jamie went back to square one, or arguably even lower than he'd ever been. Dany turned into everything she vowed never to be. Tyrion flipped back to "family first", just like Jamie. Jon at least remains his aloof self.

Killing the sitting queen makes sense. Then she takes what she feels is hers. Killing people and destroying a city gets her no where.

All of the things you mentioned above don't explain her actions. They just explain that she's willing to kill bad people that don't want her to have power. Those innocent people had no opinion and didn't even care about those politics.
Being power hungry does usually equal killing innocent people. She will stop at nothing to get the throne.

Power corrupts. And she's made her choice.

        What Yanks said. Lol

And my post was partly to show how Dany isn't as sane as some of you are making her out to be [emoji23]

She already had the throne when the bells started ringing. Killing the innocents wasn't about that.

Side note, I swear at the beginning of their conversation, Dany says no one loves her, Jon says he loves her, and then when she asked him if she was more than his queen, he said nothing... Did I miss something there or am I misinterpreting?

Last thing I'll say before I go to work lol.

Yes there should have been more time invested. This needed 10 episodes. It was rushed. But I still loved it.

This didn't come close to approaching TWD or Breaking Bad. The earlier seasons made them my favorite shows. But they ruined it as it progressed to the point where I started hating the main characters. That's never good.

Thrones to me stayed pretty consistent. Even Dark Dragon Queen still means something to me. Among the others. I still feel attached to the main characters. That's important.

It's more about her not being level headed anymore. She's won the battle at Kings landing. But senses its all for nothing. Because Jon is the rightful heir. Which is why she chooses FEAR.

She loves him more then he loves her. That secret has torn them apart. It's not the same. They are complete opposite. Jon doesn't want to be king. She would do anything for the throne. Because she is certain it's her destiny.

Re: Game of Thrones: Season 8 (Final season)

One more thing I just thought of. Dany has always been impulsive. Let's not forget that. Dany wants to do the right thing. But she is always been conflicted. Many times Dany was going to kill innocents. But Varys or Tyrion would talk her out of it.

Varys was the first one to sense she had changed. He always believed in peace. He's observed so many rulers. And he realized Dany was changing and was not the same which is why he betrayed her.

The loss of her dragon and Mesandre was the last straw to Danys sanity. That was the straw that broke the camels back.

That has been a horrible show for about 4 seasons now.
I mean I thought it was pretty common knowledge how horrible it was the last few seasons before this most recent season.

The only show I can recall that was this popular and this bad at the end was Lost, and honestly GOT might be even worse due to the 180 it did along the way. Most fans had a suspicion that Lost wasn't going to have a fulfilling ending. GOT completely changed the style/type of show over the last 2ish seasons. This isn't even about an unsatisfying conclusion, it's about the entire show becoming complete **** down the home stretch that barely resembles what the first few seasons were like.

She lost two of her “kids”, Jorah, Missandei, and the people around her no longer believe in her. How is that not a story? That amount of loss is enough for anyone to snap.

Never understood people saying she was trying to save people in the north out of the goodness of her heart. Strategically she either fights them up north 1st or goes after KL first allowing the Army of the dead to strengthen. Then again she could’ve split her army into 2 and won both anyways lol.

I took it pretty much as Jon doesn't want to marry his aunt.

Jon Snow has royally pissed me off this season though. Are you Jon Snow or Aegon Targaryen? Because if you want to be Jon Snow then getting busy with your aunt shouldn't be an issue and you damn sure shouldn't told Sansa.

If you're Aegon, you should've been planning for the throne as soon as TDK fell.

Had to be reminded of that as I had forgotten all about this vision even though I watched every season this year. Lol

So I get why some clues or hints could have been missed/forgotten about after 10 years of watching.
