Re: Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin In Hot Water
It's interesting that they got caught. My full comment would go off into the political realm but let's just say, this isn't that uncommon. They probably were dumb enough to get caught or were too aggressive.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Unjust as it is, I assumed this was already the norm.
Not saying it's not news, either. Like SPTO though, the most surprising thing to me was that they got caught doing it.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin In Hot Water
Just one estimate from a talking head law professor:
Loughlin: 37-46 months if convicted at trial, 27-33 months on acceptance of a guilty plea.
Huffman: 12-18 months if convicted at trial, 8-14 months on acceptance of a guilty plea.
According to this guy, the disparity in the ladies' possible jail time involves the amount of money involved ($500K versus $15K).Comment

Watch and see the rich get out of trouble somehow. Plea, rich people get more breaks with the law than any normal person. I bet neither one of them get anything in jail close to that, and even if they do it's Jail Club Med, not real jail.Comment

Re: Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin In Hot Water
I think y'all claiming this isn't uncommon aren't fully informed of what this was, or are overestimating it's occurrence. Sure touch people pay to get their kids into schools, but that's usually through a donation to the school.
This was paying people to cheat on our forge standardized testing, paying coaches to lie that heir kids were recruits to get preferential admissions treatment.
I can't imagine that kind of stuff is common

Re: Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin In Hot Water
I didn't realize it was that difficult for the children of the rich to get into "elite" universities that they had to go through all this work with a third party and hunt around for fake photos.
I just assumed mom and dad made a donation to the elite school for $100,000, or helped finance that new wing built on the library, science centre, etc. and their kids got into the program of their choice.Comment

Re: Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin In Hot Water
Exactly....it involves coaches, cheating on tests, creating fake athletic profiles of kids who weren't in those sports....

The only thing I don't really understand is how they got the transcripts submitted and approved. Sure you can lie on your application, but you would have to then fabricate the transcripts afterward
