Re: Survivor: Island of the Idols
Preseason cast picks which are either real accurate or real wrong lol
SpoilerRonnie- A good strategic player who should be good at comps as well. Don't know how he'll do socially, but all other aspects seems like he'll make at least jury.
Lauren- Don't see her being a standout player. Maybe one of the "I'm happy to be here" players.
Elizabeth- They don't have extreme swimming comps much anymore, but if they do, she'll be the best one at that. At the very least she should volunteer to go fishing and help the tribe that way.
Missy- I think she'll be good at challenges, but at the same time the tribe will debate whether to keep her for challenges or get rid of her because they can't stand her.
Molly- Probably could go far in the game and fly under the radar.
Janet- Another player who if there's water challenges she could thrive, but if they don't, there goes her main asset.
Kellee- Might be the slightly weird person of the season, or at least get edited like that.
Dean- Seems like he could be a well rounded player that could go far.
Tom- First Canadian on Survivor! Too bad they had to get an old guy (sure he played in the NHL decades ago, but not a household name) who probably doesn't last long. And he might not be at reunion if those breach of contract rumors are true.
Jason- He seems like he's really into the game. Might be one of the people who could make it far.
Aaron- The strong guy. Seems like that'll basically be all he's gonna do in the game. Help the tribe early on but voted out for being a physical threat.
Vince- One of people who seems to be a longtime fan. But who knows how he'll mesh with rest of the cast and could either be early boot or go far.
Jack- One of the younger people on the cast who probably will make it to the jury but won't be a big player.
Karishma- One of the "older" women in the cast. Not over 40, but still could see her being one of people they want out earlier.
Noura- Could manage to make it far in the game and be good at comps and challenges.
Tommy- Feels like one of the players who could become a fan fave. Usually fan faves never win though so we'll see what happens.
Jamal- Seems like he'll be one of the guys who are great at comps, but one of his pet peeves is bug bites..good luck on Survivor lol.
Chelsea- Another one of the people who seems like a big fan of the show. Hopefully she gets better edit than the last Chelsea on Survivor lol.
Dan- The older guys doesn't often last very long. Might not be first target, but probably gone before tribe swaps.
Elaine- I think she's the oldest woman on the season? Likely makes her a target right there.
My infamous F3 jinx- Dean, Tommy, Noura -

Re: Survivor: Island of the Idols
I may not have been paying attention enough if this was announced as how it would be, but I like that the 'idols' are on a separate island and not each on a tribe. I wonder what all they will have to do later on. I wonder what Rob had in his back pocket. I don't get why Elizabeth (was there her name?) lied about what was there to everyone. So much for having an alliance she really trusted. Everyone is going to know in a few days anyways so it didn't seem smart to lie about it.Comment

Re: Survivor: Island of the Idols
To be fair, I said "don't know how he'll do socially". That was his downfall.
For a poker player though, he showed his cards early. Check, don't raise, on the first turn.Comment

Re: Survivor: Island of the Idols
Is he really a poker player? Or at least good enough to win? You never know with CBS.

Re: Survivor: Island of the Idols
A big time poker player actually commented on him, so maybe they know each other.
If this was Big Brother, he'd probably be billed as a poker superstar but just play blackjack at a casino and was on TV one time in a news story about said casino lol.Comment

Re: Survivor: Island of the Idols
I have to admit, the title worried me, as well as the "boot camp." So far, I think they pulled it off pretty well. I like it.Comment

Re: Survivor: Island of the Idols
Yeah I like what they're doing, although I'm a boston Rob honk, so the more of him the better lol
I thought it was weird how the first person went in, with no chance to beat Rob in fire making, chose to try it, and Rob said "she didn't even try to make a deal".
What deal was available? The next girl that showed up didn't have to make a deal, the deal was presented to her after her indecision.
So which is it? You should barter or you should be indecisive?Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Re: Survivor: Island of the Idols
I think it'll vary.
But it's so unbalanced.
Challenge 1: Face off against a guy who lived on an island for over 100 days in a fire making challenge.
Challenge 2: Remember those stories they just told you? Get 3 of 5 questions right about them.
I think most would fare better in challenge 2. Unless of course you came into Survivor being a fire making expert, which is something we dont see as often anymore(since more people cast today are regular people rather than old school era where we saw more survival/outdoors type of people).
They probably didnt want to make it too easy so every person isn't guaranteed to win. But first one wasn't even close. First challenge though, no way anyone would or should assume if they said no, there'd be another deal.Last edited by Majingir; 10-08-2019, 02:21 PM.Comment

Re: Survivor: Island of the Idols
I doubt the people would know, but Rob definitely said there would be an offer if they turned it down. It will be interesting to see what happens if people know to turn down the 1st offer.I think it'll vary.

I don't how people don't prepare themselves for the show. Even if you live in the city, you can go learn how to make fire. It's not like Big brother where they generally don't have a lot of time to prepare once they know they are selected or getting close to being selected.
The questions were too easy as I really wasn't paying attention and got all 3 right.

Re: Survivor: Island of the Idols
my point is that both players were indecisive and Rob gave 2nd player a deal, and criticized 1st player for not making a deal.
2nd player didn't try to make a deal either, and she got one anyway, so...Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment
